Just put it on then! Shouldn't be a problem but a piece of mind.

I went with the 10296 with the low pressure spring. Im not sure what the m10355 is. Is that a dry sump type pump i dont think that would work in the camaro ls3

I've opened up a new Mexican-made ls6 pump and I opened up my 10296. The OEM pump looks like it was machined with a rusty spoon. The melling is beautifully made.

i dunno guys been reading up and pressure really doesnt help that much.. its more volume.. i get 40 at idle now and it goes up good when getting on it.. iv read the high volumes suck the pan dry aswell sometimes hi rpm

I'll look and see what my h/c/i car had on it making 455 but on friday a car i put a melling pump on it grenaded the rods and there was no oil at the top (hit 155 it was a A4 stock gears) dunno if it was a pinched oil seal or what but the car had drove 400-500 miles before that so i would think it woulda blown before also there is no metal shavings..

what do you guys think? stock pump ok for 231/236 641/615 111 cam? or hi volume

The 10355 pump WILL fit the LS3. It is not a dry-sump pump.

I had no problems with the oem pump on my LY6 all the way to 7500rpm. nice steady increase of oil pressure from ~ 40psi at idle to just over 80psi @ 7500. made 648 hp

If you're running a stock bottom end, with stock bearings clearance, why would you think you'd need different oil pressure/volume than GM thought you'd need? I can see going different on a built bottom end with looser clearances...but I don't see stock engines losing bearings due to lack of oil pressure or volume.

I HAVE seen that a run of LS3's seemed to have a problem with the stock oil pump pressure relief sticking open I believe...which is indeed a problem.

That pressure relief sticking issue is undoubtedly a dirt and grime reason causing the all too detrimental outcome ,,,,,,,,,,,,,maybe an oil pump inlet screen could potentially save a few engines if designed correctly ?
