Default Under camming with 228R ?

Running a 371 flat top iron. 243's milled .010 to bump me a lil closer to 11-1 compression. Car is purely a street car n never sees the track . I ran a ms3 b4 n hated everything about it other than the sound. It was dead as 4 oclock unless i spun it way up in the rpms. My opinion a straight track cam only good fir wide open. Maybe it was in my tune partially bjt it was a mail order from TSP.
Ive read how to 228R is great for actual useable street power. Seeings the duration is low and lift is under. 600 on both sides milling the 243's shouldnt be an issue rite???

if the MS3 fit with your current setup, the 228 will most definately fit. I would still clay the piston just to be on the safe side. on a side note, I had an MS4 in my LS1 and i loved it. it was a turd until about 3000 RPM, but after that even at part throttle it ran great.

I know what you are saying tho, as I had 3.42 gears when I first installed the cam, but once I got 4.11's, it ran great. drove great, even in 6th at 1500 RPM it ran great.

Its a new build. Was gonna run the ms3 in the new motor but a rod decided to keep that from happening. It slammed and pitted 2 lobes n probably bent the cam honestly. But in search of a new cam and wanted something purely for the street. Ive got a m6 w/ 4.10's in the rear n still hated the ms3. It drove alright street wise but was a turd under 3-3200 rpms n didnt really peak unless i spun the **** out of it. Dont wanna have to do that on new setup. 68-7000 rpms is what took out the stock motor.

You'd love the 228 I'm sure. I run a 225/229 in my car with 241 heads and stock 346ci and I think its too small of a cam peak power is 6200. I feel you might want to bump up into the low 230s, like around TSP Torquer V2/V3 specs, but preferably custom grind.

I had the 228r on my heads
/cam/stall/intake on my LS6. It was pretty fast, but with you having more cubes id go bigger.

Thats what i was unsure of being bigger cubed engine. I deff dont want it to drop out till around 66-6700 rpms but still pull like hell down low n pull pretty hard throughout the curve. Its more of a street toy but the ocassional back road line up from what i was told i would be somewhere in the 11-1 comp range with the 243's milled. 010. Just dont wanna go to small and waste $ or to big n have to tach the crap outta it.

Like I said, minimum I would do is a low to mid 230s, something around a Torquer V2/V3
