As it is sitting on the rev limiter some 40 yards before the line I am looking at trying 274/45/18 M&H tyres soon.
The last pass I made I let the car shift into 4th gear which lifted the speed up from previous 120.xxmph to a little over 121mph so it may have enough power to use the taller tyre.
Nice! Pretty close to what my 4k+lb G8 ran. I went 11.31@119.9. I guess main difference is we have the 6L80 and I ran 3.7 gears. I also used the Ramjet, cool intake!

We have had great success with our 231/236 Camshaft. We have had plenty of guys call us up with excellent numbers and times, so hopefully some of them will chime in!

I loved TSP's 231/236 in my stock ls3, it ran great and put out good #s and times.

That is an option, however I would rather err on the side of caution and not lift the limiter on this standard crate engine as I am aware that the standard rods do snap.

"Allfast 9 1/2" convertor"

Do you happen to know the stall rpm on your converter? I am building a similiar combination. Thank You for the mods list on your Monaro.

That's a really good time for a heavy car!

Do you run with the filter in or out of the RamJet?

Ran this converter with the original LS1, data logging showed that with it the engine flashed straight to 3,700rpm and then started to drive the car at 4,100rpm.

This same converter with the LS3 is stalling to at least 4,500rpm.

Im loving my 231/236 cam. Pulls like a train all the way to my 7k shift point. Throwing it on the dyno this month and I'll be at the track soon. Ive barely had it in a week or so but it feels faster then my old setup and that was around 480-490rwhp. Deffinately more torque all around vs my LS1 and way more on the bottom end. Thnx to TSP, those have always been extremely helpfull.

I know you don't want to blow your motor, but we have a stock '99 ls1 shortblock in a car spinning to 7400 on the bottle and has been doing this since 2003 and is a street driver. So upping a few rpms isn't going to hurt.

Thanks, yours is no lightweight either. Takes a good bit of effort to make these pigs fast. Technically mine isn't even an LS3, an LS2 block with LS3 heads.

I've changed the setup since then but yeah with the filter.

I know what your saying, but sometimes things do go wrong.

The old LS1 that I sold out of our car last year had the limiter set at 6,950rpm, the new owner went circuit racing with it and broke number 6 rod with a lower limiter.
A good friends GTO with a LS3 headed LS2 also broke a rod earlier this year with the limiter set at 7,200rpm.

Main reason for not lifting the limiter though is that the current combo is already flatlining.

i went with the lg g6x3 and i love it , it pulls hard from around 4800 up, it dont like anything around 1500 and under tho , but its not hard to drive at all , i have a stick tho, these cams make alot of power. lots have made 500 rwhp with this cam without heads, mine made 471 in 102 degree temp and i just have headers , tune and c.a.i . i love it sound nasty too.
its a 111 lsa tho some ppl dont care much for that

I really enjoyed the g6x3 but it was not designed for ls3 heads it was designed for a LS2 and does not have the huge exhaust duration split that ls3 heads like. I did like it and it drove good and put down over 500hp but a failed lifter took it out and im not prepared to pay 620 bucks for a cam when I got a custom grind for 400 thats 220 bucks that can get me the lifter I need and pushrods if I end up needing them and give me a whole lot more power
