Max Effort Cam Only LQ4
I am putting together a LQ4 for my Mustang build. Trying to keep costs as cheap as possible so that I can enjoy the car first.
I am staying all motor and have no plans to do anything besides a cam, lifters and springs with the stock heads and intake for now. Better heads and intake when I save more funds later on.
I'd rather enjoy the car with this basic motor and gather parts for upgrades while I still enjoy my new ride.
I've seen a lot of people and threads on her with swapping heads and milling heads but only 1-2 people with just cam only setups.
Does anyone have any ideas on what cam I should be able to get away with for max HP/TQ?
I am not driving a dyno queen so 5-10HP up top will not be worth it if it kills my low end TQ.
Its a drag race setup, TH350 w 10.5" PTC converter, 4.10 gears 28" tires in a 3100lb mustang.
Thanks in advance

With mine, on a dyno jet I made 403 and 376. 4000 Stall and stock 10 bolt with 3.23 gear. A4. Was ls1 tho. Lq4 with low compresion will be a dog in my opinion. I would go LQ9. They are the same price as a LQ4. You can get them with low miles from a junk yard for under $1500.
