231/236, .641'/.615', 113 LSA. Is the cam that was suggested to me by tsp. the car is a weekend toy and occasional drag strip car. Does need to idle at lights and sit in traffic for an hour or so twice a month.. Is this to aggressive? Longest it will ever see the road is probably 2hrs at a time. Oh and G force will be doing my tunning.

Well that sounds good. I PM'd Pat G about a custom cam but haven't heard from him. I want to get as much as I can out of this motor. The price of fully dressed heads/gaskets/arp head studs/cam is about the same price as a turbo kit soooo I'd like to maximize

I mean its damn near 4grand for a heads & cam combo with all the goods. IE gaskets/arp studs/rockers etc. I could have a custom turbo kit made for that much and be well into the 550rwhp range..

These motors are only good for so much boost before you need forged internals etc

Do your self a favor and have the block bored .030, install a good set of forged pistons and have a custom cam spec'd.

I'm shooting for 500 at the wheels thru a 9 inch. I recently decided to send my heads to AI for their stage 1 ls3 program.

Lq4 can handle 6-8lbs all day with rod bolts which have been done already. For 6k I can have a custom turbo kit built by a very reputable shop here in houston 10min from my house. I'm going to chat with them in the morning and will probably end up leaving my car there. I just can't justify spending 4k and then another 1300 for install and tune when 6k can get me almost 100 more HP and be out the door and tuned.. Not to me to mention the room to grow when I want it. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. But I think turbo is the way to go for me.

good luck. the iron blocks are a good place to start for boost, but still, consider boring the block some, and with the turbo, I think some ls3 heads could do you well since you could actually move the air.

I agree, I think the lq4 is a good turbo platform. I'm going to leave the heads and ls1 intake on it for now and see what it does. If and when I get bored of the power ill pull the motor bore it/forge it and throw some ls3 stuff on it.

At the minimum id get an ls6 intake otherwise the turbo is gonna fall right on its face since it cant get the air to the heads.
