Resurrecting this! Toying with the idea of getting a Trailblazer with 5.3 and swapping it for an LS3/L99 or truck 6.2L. Mechanically sounds straightforward, but what must be done electrically? Do all sensors hook up the same? Can I use the same ECU, BUT reprogrammed/retuned?
If this should be in the Conversion section, would a Mod move it please?

The model year split was 06 I believe where they changed from 24k reductor to 58k reductor. The LS3 is 58K so it would reduce the number of other changes you need to make, I think mostly sensors and wiring.

Just dreaming this up; don't even have a vehicle, but there are some around here, so it got me to thinking. Looks like I better stick to later ones to keep the electrics simpler. It was mainly the differences between the 5.3 vs. LS3/L99 that had to be accounted for. The same could be asked if I were to get a late 5.3 Colorado/Canyon. I thought all these were Gen IV. Looks like some are Gen III

Yeah, swapping a gen4 into a gen4 is pretty much a plug and play, minus the tune. If you could grab the ECM from the donor, no tune needed.

Do TB's and Camaros use the same type ECM?
Unless the TB one is vehicle specific, then copy the tune over... if that's possible.

Not sure. I’ve messed with more aftermarket ecm’s than GM stuff.

they dont camaros are newer and from what ive heard the ecu is better for tuning but if gen 4 to gen 4 its a plug and play. maybe knock sensor extension, and cam sensor relocation extension if similar to truck 6.0 set up.
