Post The big question

I'm just curious on what people would decided to do. Which route would y'all take. Big cam, heads and spray, or would y'all prefer a FI set up? ready set GO.

The answer to this question is 100% dependent on the goals for the car, as well as the conditions under which it will be used....aka very vague question without giving a set of parameters in which the car will be used.....

okay i agree with it being a very broad question now...okay say you have a lq9 would get the compression up with a good set of heads get a good cam and spray it? or leave the low compression get a boost cam and go boost? itll be a street car.

Your budget is the main thing! Turbo....Supercharger.......7000.oo dollars for a Decent aftermarket hairdryer and on the turbo plumbing and all that crap.... Mast or TFS heads mid level compression 12.0 and a bunch of Dope would be cheaper you just have to go and Re-Up then Whip it till it's cooked. You got Scoggin right in town US 327 ( I've been there a lot!) Look at my engine build 408 solid roller /Vic Jr./ 4150 Fast T/b. / 12.0 comp I'm hoping for 700fwhp My car is a 80's (3300lbs- fiber glass bumpers are next) Malibu 4l80 trans with single disc 4000-4500 stall and I'll be using 3.91 gear and I plan to ride with A/c and power- steering,

+1 on budget. I'm currently doing a stock 2005 50k mile Lq9 ($1200) Cam Package ($750) and STS kit ($1000 used from a friend), with supporting mods such as injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, timing chain set, gauges, tune I'm in this whole thing for about $5k shooting for 600hp Daily Driven. I got lucky with the kit, there's no way in hell i would've been able to afford FI if I didn't know the guy. I first started off with the budet of $3k total for cam only lq9 w/ supporting components but that budget went out the door when the STS kit came in play. I could've easily threw in a nitrous kit for another $1k and called it a day. What sucks is that when you start gettin into this power range you'd better have enough money down the road for a rear end lol.

haha yes i agree on the budget!! haha as for rear end im covered or atleast i hope that moser holds up haha. im just saying because most of the guys here are starting to go FI i wouldnt know how far H/C and spray would get for awhile. Its starting to get into a big competition to win haha thats why i got the lq9 but i started to adding things up haha

I just got some bad news on the STS lol, looks like I might have to go a different route for the time being. New setup might be just lq9, L92 heads, cam, and Spray. still shooting for 600 lol and honestly after looking at the cost difference, all motor w/ spray looks to be the cheaper route, but damn just thinking about the turbo with a few clicks of a button to get you from 600-700+... can't beat that lol. What's in the moser right now? and what's the mileage? I just looked at a bunch of websites and I might just get the ford 9" housing assembly ready for f-body, and buy the center section seperately...I think that's the cheapest route if I didn't leave anything out.
