Default Solid Roller Cam

Can I run a solid roller cam in an LS7 and still use knock sensors or will the valve lash cause the sensors to retard timing?

I run a tight lash solid roller (0.016" hot) and have zero issues!

That's considered tight? Good to know!

I run a solid lift and no problem with knock sensors. But I believe that my timing is set at 30 degrees

You must be too young to remember when Chevrolet delivered solid roller motors from the Factory that had their valves set as high as 0.030"!!!

Great! It sounds like a solid rolller option is still on the table. The only other hurdle I see is due to the GM block design I would have to pull the heads to monitor the condition of the lifters. I'm not a big fan of that.

I ran a mild solid roller cam on my old LT1 set up. I lashed them as tight .010"-.012" due to aluminum heads. Lifters were easier to swap as well, just unbolt the intake manifold.,
