Default Need help with intake - Ls3 heads

Building a 01 LQ4 and just got a new set of LS3/L92 heads for it.
I need to get a intake off a SUV/truck/van that will work with the heads.

I want to get one from a junk yard as Im hoping it will come with injectors/TB and maybe the wires for injectors.Im looking to hit 500HP out of the 6.0 so looking for stock intake that had some big injectors.

What year and make should i start looking and does anything in the 07+ years have drive by cable tb?

If you are talking 500 at the wheels, you are asking alot from that LQ4.

Not one GM truck manifold past 2003 had drive by cable tb. And none of them have provisions for mounting the cable bracket either. If you are using a cable TB truck, the best for the best power is the Holley Hi Ram EFI manifold. With the LS3 heads anyway. They have provisions for the cable bracket and come with fuel rails also.

You can meet your goal with that where the stock manifolds would need some modifications and still will cut you short. Any LS style injector will fit, but I believe the drop in style would be the truck/ls2 style. The highest flowing injector in a stock truck would be the flex fuel ones for the 5.3/6.0/6.2. They are somewhat hard to find as they look like all the others.

I know you are probably not looking to buy all new, but that setup will accept any TB you want to bolt onto it (with an optional adapter flange for a 3 bolt) up to a 92mm in cable or DBW form. If finding those injectors is more hassle than its worth, we have any size injector in any style you need with all the info needed for you/your tuner to input and get to working, or we offer many different tuning options for that as well.

I tried to mix in actual JY info into some parts pitching. Hope some of that helps!

thanks

Thanks for the reply, Im looking for 500 at fly as this is going into a truck and know it would be $1000's of more upgrades to hit RWHP. Im building best bang for the buck. I will look into getting the flex fuel intake. Do you know the size of those injectors?

I'm go use 42 lb injectors in my build. It's a 6.0 block with ls3 internals internals with the ls3 top end. You can crank 500 horse at the crank easily with the right camshaft to match the heads.

All of the L92 headed truck intakes are the same. I cannot say if they had flex fuel on them, but most of the injectors for the truck intakes are rated at 32# roughly. The flex fuel trucks are rated at about 38# or close to it. So not a whole lot of difference there, but enough.

The camshaft will be where its at and possibly upping the CR just a bit by milling the L92s into a 65cc chamber, roughly .030 off.

We can get you a great custom cam to fit your truck and to accommodate a stall/no stall. You wont have to go super large to hit that, just a well spec'd cam.

After that though you will need a larger cable tb (4 bolt) and a cable bracket. We have quite a few avail from 85mm and up.
