Default Who did you buy your long block from?

Howdy,

Could some of your share where you bought your long block from?
What WHP are you pushing on it?
How long have you had it for and any issues?

Im in the process of selecting a shop to build me a new long block ready for boost. I have talked to most of the big engine builders however i have come across a few that arent well known on the forums but they claimed they have built ton of LS blocks and their sites support that. They can talk the talk and you can tell they're knowledgeable but the issue is would you go with someone like that? Would there need to be a significant price difference for you go to with them?

Anyways, im just curious fellas(one of these is a newish forum vendor)

I machined and built my engine, but if I were to choose a shop to build mine next time, I would base it off of customer testimonials and looking at some of the cars the prospective shops have built an engine for and see how the owner likes it. See if the engine smokes, or makes a lot of noise. Is it a "750whp beast" that gets it's *** drug by cam-only Camaros? How long did it take to get the engine and did the customer receive what he/she asked for?

A lot of shops have "the mouth", a guy that talks the talk, and if you aren't very technically knowledgeable, he will actually just baffle you with a bunch of bullshit and big words without really saying anything. But it sounds good.

Erik has a new shop in La Grange. Not sure what his new contact info is at the shop, but his email should work.

A buddy of mine put a Texas Speed 416 in his 2012 CFM Grand Sport and let me assure you that he is flat out merciless on that thing. It makes just a **** ton of power, doesn't smoke, squeek, tick, rattle or leak and although his M6 does have a dry sump pan with mods.....he's auto crossed it and run half hour sessions at Elkhart Lake with no problems.
This guy has ruined more C6Z trannys/rear ends and even trashed his LS3 in only 12,000 miles. This is his fourth Vette and since this engine install last year has put 15K on it.....this particular car for whatever reason has with stood his complete and utter lunacy !!!!

FWIW I've been running a TSP 382 for 7 years now with zero issues. It was some fun getting it in the first place, but once it was installed it has been great and I would buy another one from them again.

Bought Mine from Thompson MotorSports, Tick Performance put it together. 500 and some change rwhp. 10.91 @ 127, 1.6 60ft. with a 3:23 in a stock rear. I have a Moser 12 bolt with 373's now, added a torque arm, lower control arms and a panhard bar, should hook now.
