Damn. They admitted it was casting errors and then say they are not going to modify their casting process/materials to get rid of the problem? AND you have to wait weeks to get a replacement that might have the same issues? Jeez...

If I was paying 3600-4000 for a set of heads, attention to detail should be to its utmost importance and final quality control inspection to ensure customer full satisfaction.

You took the words right out my mouth. 4000 bucks for a set of heads is expensive for it to have a flaw in the head. Thanks for making this thread though cause now I know what head NOT to buy.

Agree. QC and attention to detail should be built into the cost.

Yes i was told that and that was my main concern when they agreed to replace the heads to begin with even though they said they would go over the castings well before final machining! Just what is the exceptable and then the date for new casting kept getting pushed thats when i agreed to let them fill the holes with the promise/guarantee the filling would never come out or cause problems for what ever thats worth!
The vendor did throw out there many other head castings suffer the same issues some even worse even the allpro's i was going to sub for these but who knows could have been more talk just so i would keep them.

I have Performance Induction heads, which merged with MAST a few years ago, which is the Black label series, and my heads don't have those flaws in them. Who knows. Maybe they used a different casting for mine.

His are LS7 heads and yours are LS1 heads, so doubt it's the same casting. I do wonder if this has happened to anyone else. They have to be selling a lot of the 305 heads, and I doubt anyone who pays that much for heads would allow any flaws in the castings to fly.

Damn shame. It sucks for you, but for the rest of the LS1Tech community it's good to know how they treated you. Don't get me wrong, wish that didn't happen to you, but it could keep the same thin from happeneing to others.

For the price of those heads that is ridiculous. I wouldn't be very happy either.

So i took the heads to a local head shop to get them looked over and the installed spring heights being i was never given those details and the springs were set at 1.760 which gave me .010 to coil bind with my cam they were supposed to be set at 1.810 to give me .060 to bind also some of the valve stems were nicked up and needed filing and polishing to clean up glad i had them checked!
