Thanks again. As you mentioned, that first gearing might be good for their set up having all that power to run 7's and 8's, so the steeper 2.48 might well be better for my power range.

Whenever we build an engine, if the engine is going to have head studs used, we line bore the engine with the customers head studs.

I guess they have a set that they use instead.
Yes sir, they have a set that they use instead. Thanks for looking.

I think you're selling your combo short.....
an 8.50 car is yours with a 250 plate and an 8 oh combo is yours with a .042 pill fogger
you have mid nine second potential on ***** and since you're not running a big *** 31 W tire which plants 11.3 to 11.6 width, I predict hooking issues for you with a 2.48 on all but the most well prepared starting surfaces.....and since Da' Grove is my home track, I think you know what I'm implying......

MAST also makes intakes for carb. Give them a call and talk to Chris.

My goal is to get this camaro running low 10's maybe even into the 9's on MUSCLE!
No plans for JUICE or any power adder with this build. And DaGrove is my home track too! Thanks A.R., for all your suggestions. Might see you at Da Grove(GLD) one of these days.

I had a chance to work on the windage tray and installing the oilpan and pick up tube today. A little modifications on the tray and some spacers cleared the rods easily.
Moroso oil pan#20140 and their oilpan stud kit.
Moroso pick tube#24050
GM Windage tray(deflector)#12611129
I also installed a pick up tube "girdle" for assurance that the pick up tube will not come loose from the oil pump. It incorporates 2 bolts instead of just 1.

Did that pickup tube come with the Moroso pan? I'm using the stock pan on mine & wondering if the stock pickup tube will work well enough? How much was the Moroso pan?

The pick up tube was a separate purchase, but was made specifically for the oil pan. The oil pan was around $240 and the pick up tube was about $100.
The stock pick up tube will work fine with the stock oil pan, but you may want to incorporate a baffle, like the one from Improved Racing.

I purchased it through BRP Hot Rods. There was a thread about the pick up tube having only one bolt on this forum.

So wait the cam is a 260s/280s 114? What do you plan to spin the motor to?

I ask because Chris Frank told me about a 414 he did with his Stage 2 LS3s, a GM single plane, 11.8:1 on pump gas and a solid roller 257/264 109+4 Cam. It peaked at 7500 and carried out past 8000. I ask because it's a similar type of build (made 756 engine dyno) and has a much lower IVC.

260"s/280's Kip@CamMotion sped the cam for me. 7400-7500 rpm @ 13.8:1 CR on Race

I'd be interested to see how far it carries the power. The FRH heads were 269cc... so not far off from what you have now.

I don't know if this question has been answered, but I seen you with the kooks headers with the 3.5 collectors. Do you plan on just running an open head or do you plan on running a full exhaust? I have the same headers and haven't figured what I'm going to do, for the rest of the exhaust.

Looks makes a nice y pipe that fits the headers and can get it with a 4" outlet. What I did. And put a 4" cutout in the I-pipe.
