Default Fresh LS7 No Oil Pressure at Startup HELP!

Need some help if anyone has any ideas. Just installed fresh LS7 in 06 Z06 and is showing no oil pressure at startup. Block was resleeved by ERL Performance, new Dragonslayer crankshaft all bearing clearances are correct. The barbell plug is installed correctly in rear of block. Is there an oil galley plug on front of block like the LS1? Any ideas are greatly appreciate.

Did you prime the oil pump before start up. Fill the oil pump partially with oil then install.

Oil pump was primed thoroughly. Seems to be getting oil to filter but zero pressure on gauge and valve train noise suggest no oil to top end. Shut off <10 sec. Not sure if LS7 has oil galley plug behind front cover like LS1? Any ideas appreciated.

There is a plug that goes under the front cover and back cover. Are you using a wet sump or dry sump system?

You could always pull the oil pressure sender off and crank your motor over without the spark plugs in and fuel injectors unplugged and see if any oil comes out. Pain in the *** but you could quickly find out whether you have a wiring issue or truly aren't getting any oil. Just a thought, good luck

LS7 in a 2006 Z06, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say he's using the stock dry sump. Wouldn't you think?

I lost all pressure in my LS2 when the oil pressure relief stuck open.

If the LS7 has the same main gallery access near the front of the block you can hook up a priming system there. When my relief was stuck open the oil was simply going through the pump into the pan when I tried to prime. Once I got a new pump on I would read about 20psi while priming (ignition on, engine NOT running).

Did you confirm the crank had a plug installed in the back?

E-mailed the customer and all is fine and has good oil pressure. He was being cautious and it took time to fill all the galleys, filters, lines, etc..
It's a good idea to pre-fill filters, lines and all you can to reduce the time to build pressure on a new build. I know several have used a garden variety pump sprayer to build a pre-luber to pump oil through the sending unit orfice by making an adapter and that has worked well for an economy version.

I prime my LS builds by using a pressure cannister feeding into the front drivers side galley threaded plug while rotating the crank assembly. I also lube up oil pump with red assembly lube to prevent cavitation of the oil pump.
