Going to leave the ride height alone for now. I’m at 29.5” in the rear and 26 1/4 in the front measuring from the ground to the fender wells. I’d like to bring the rear end down a little bit, but we will see. Naturally it will have some rake due to 28/26 tall tires

Just measured mine today and I’m right at 27-1/4 in the front and 29-1/4 in the rear. Mines more drag oriented tho.

Got the gas tank dropped finally. It was pretty simple, for me I had no exhaust to deal with. I removed the panhard bar, I’m not sure if I absolutely had to or not, but it gave me a ton of clearance. I didn’t have to remove the lower shock bolts I just let the rear end float with shocks fully extended while I got the tank out. I knew the previous owner had put in an inline fuel pump and it has been in the car since I’ve owned it. I got the part number off of it and it’s a walbro, time to find out what it is exactly since I’m just curious. I’ve heard nothing but negatives about running an inline pump with an in tank pump, but it always worked well for me with no issues. Anyways time to change rear brakes, bleed rear brakes, change gear oil in rear end and install the new pump (walbro 450)

It’s getting there. Slowly but surely.

Modified the fuel bucket for the Walbro 450 and went ahead and did the other side as well for the future if I ever decide to go duals.

Making progress! If you ever run into trouble with the fuel pump mod and are looking for a quick solution contact Andy with Squash Performance. He built one for me with twin 450 Walbros. If you haven't done the trap door mod on the car I'd recommend it.

Thanks man. I plan to cut the trap door before the tank goes back in

For those of you using the stock fuel pump bucket and removing the stock FPR, DO NOT OVERLOOK THE SMALL THINGS! The screen and that small o-ring should be removed unless you want them floating around inside your fuel tank.

This is the screen and o-ring that should be removed and sit behind the stock FPR just like that

Remove the o-ring for the stock elec plug if you are upgrading as well

I was running a Bosch 340LPH pump and made the mistake of not modifying the fuel return after removing the FPR. Apparently I needed some sort of tube to direct the fuel down into the bucket at the pump. I had removed one section of the bottom and drilled several holes in order for the fuel to make it into the bucket faster but I guess I starved it of fuel and fried the pump. I couldn't run it below a 1/4 tank without losing fuel either. Post some more pics of how the pump is set up when your finished. I'll be starting a build on my sons 99 Camaro soon and where going to just modify his fuel pump.

That’s interesting, I hadn’t heard of that until now. I wondered about that though too

So I bought what I thought I needed, racetronix doesn’t do a very good job of describing what you will need with what fuel pump as far as in tank wiring so luckily I had bought the install kit for the Walbro 450 and I just spliced that connector in since the racetronix one was not the right one.

What was supplied for Walbro in tank wiring

The Walbro pigtail I had to splice in

That’s awesome man, what part of Nebraska are you in? I’m not 100% sure who I want to tune it yet. I’ve been going back and forth on the ship inc. in Lincoln or Justune in Kansas City area. There’s a few other options I’ve been considering as well.

I live in schuyler it's 60 miles west of omaha.

I have a 2006 c6z that I bought auto swapped to a 6l80e (I hate the 6l80e) i put in a ERL 447 13.8 cr with some ported trick flow 265 heads and a solid roller cam, 2 in catless headers, ported msd intake manifold, circle d 4k stall, flex fuel e85 etc etc etc.

Ended up making 593rwhp/515rwtq on the shops dyno.

saving up to do my last round of mod then call it good

rpm built 4l65e with 3.73 gears
maybe a ported holley hi ram with a 108 mm tb (waiting on another guy to dyno to see if he makes more power)
2nd tune for some ignite 114 fuel
then 100 to 150lbs weight reduction.

Ill keep an eye on this thread always like seeing local guys builds. Especially when they are similar to mine.

Sounds like a badass build. I go to the track (I29) often down by glenwood. If you’re ever down there we will have to meet up.
