Default Thoughts on gen 4 6.0 427 stroker

So i have parts laying around, and im going to build an all out stroker dragster..

Gen 4 6.o iron block bored to 4.06
dome forged pistons to get cr to 14-15:1
forged h beam rods
forged 4.125 crank
ls3 heads
fast intake
200-250 shot of nitrous

if my math is correct should be about a 427. Car will only be raced no daily driving at all and will run on race gas

HOTROD MAGAZINE STARTED THIS SAME BUILD BUT NEVER POSTED ANY UPDATES IN FEB 2014
http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...ding-a-427-ls/

shooting for close to 600 rwhp and 500 rwtq

i was looking around and havent seen a similar set up to this so i thought hey lets give it a try

any thoughts

I don't know how that long stroke is going to like the power adders.

I bet HR had issues with that build. It doesn't sound like anything that will last any serious miles IMO - piston rock

as i stated this would be a race only car so there wouldnt be any driving of the car outside of it racing... 1000 miles in a race car is a lot of time....

im leaning towards doing this as its an iron block and stronger then the aluminum block 6.0...

Thompson builds 6.0 427s... try hitting them up to see if they have had any problems and results.

That setup it BULLSHIT...... born 2 fail...I own a 408 and believe me i would and have tried to Think of every short cut with a LQ9 if you want the stroke = $$$ on a BLOCK but a simple 4in stroke is still a killer... I'm on pump gas with a .757lift solid roller STREET CAR.
The 1 thing is we can all do numbers but if the cylinder sleeve is to short we only cause a problem, that's what a LQ9 will tell U. Yes it will work but is it the best, NO your asking to much even though it is a drag set up @ the end you can still get the number your after with a 4inch crank = little more RPM .125 over on a crank is nothing.

BTW merry Christ day

Side note:
When will AFR,TFS,Mast, etc.... make me my canted valve head for less than 4 grand.
Oh ....sorry, Santa is not that good so I put the CHI heads in the LAY-A-WAY.

Ask thompson did Brian Nutter sell them the piston 4 that set up
I had a 4in. crank and thought of turning down the rods because I already owned the crank I could have made it add up BUT is it worth it? No
.60 over bore also should be brought up.

Think of the rebuild. Custom pistons, man a set of the latest stuff cost 900+ and I own them..... JE's

Here's your build

LME LQ9 408 setup call Bryan he can make what ever u want in your budget but a LQ9 427.....your asking 4 a inch but REALLY you want 10 miles ...Hmmmmmm you think you can put a lsx 454 crank in a LQ9 block (4.125) stroke.
Thought of that 1 also.

Probably the same ones that the guy who thinks running a 4.125 stroke in a stock sleeve length block is on.

You guys are cruel... That block will not work with that crank shaft, but there are other options. You can get a sleeved block from ERL, or RED and it will work great with new pistons. Wiseco has off the shelf pistons for that stroke all the way to a 4.200" bore.
