Default Ls2 Swap In FBody.

Hey guys I just recently bought a 2007 LS2 shortblock from a C6 that didnt come with any accessories. It does have the 58x reluctor wheel on the crank, So far I've gather up a list of parts of what I will need for my swap. Although I'm not sure what cam gear will need to work with my cam since 07 Ls2's came w/single-bolt cam gears, would it be ok to reuse my cam gear from my Ls1 or which one I have to buy ?

This is the list of what I have gathered to buy.

-- Cam Gear/Sprocket .............. ????
--58x-24x Reluctor Wheel Conversion ........ Lingenfelter
--243 Heads
--Ls2 Cam Sensor Harness Ext.
--Ls1 Knock Sensor Harness Ext.
--Ls2 Front Cover w/sensor...........12633906 Summit
LS2 Timing Chain Damper........... Came w/Shortblock
-Melling Oil Pump w/o Ring
-Ls2 05+ ARP Head Bolts
-Motor Mounts Prothane........... BMR/ UMI
-Balancer Bolt GM............. GM Dealer

Reusable parts from Ls1 Build
Ls1/Ls6 Tick Performance Cam, TSP Harden Pushrods, Ls7 Lifters & Ls2 trays, Ls2 Timing Chain, Valve covers, Rocker arms, Coil packs, Map sensor, "Black 24x"-Crank Sensor, Injectors, Ls1 intake TB Fuel Rails, Dipstick, Oil pan, Oil pickup, Rear Cover, Water pump "Grind off back head bolts", Balancer & Front accessories.

Grind off back head bolts for what? When I did my swap I didn't have to do that.

If it has a 58x then you can't reuse the crank position sensor. You have the whole thing apart then why don't you just make it a 24x and you can re-use a large portion of your stuff and don't need to run the converter?

Sorry forgotten delete that part, you can disregard it. I ended finding out I needed GM Part # 12586481 Cam Gear & ordered it from ws6 Store.

I didn't wanna disassemble the short block, a few shops were going to charge me $400-500 to take short block apart then to put it back together & aside to install reluctor wheel on crank was $100, I just decided to buy the 58x-24x Reluctor Wheel Conversion for $255. I already ordered the parts just waiting for them to arrive.

You'll need to tap the LS2 block knock sensor holes to fit the LS1 knock sensor. Can't remember the size off hand but its different than the LS2 knock sensors.

I have bring this back for the grave. My question is, if I use the Ls2 valley cover in my f body swap, the ls1 oil sending unit fix without any clearance problem?

Yes, I used an LS2 valley cover (with the raised oil pressure sender port) on my build last winter, and ample clearance under the cowl. Of course goes without saying you need to be even more careful with the brake booster hose. But other than that fits fine.
