Fatter stickier tires are going to be a must. I ran a 315 NT05R and it was pretty good. Still could break loose in all gears but it was a more controlled tore spin lol. Do you have all good suspension in the rear too?

Aaron
Rear suspension is done. Solid cradle, diff bushing, toe rods, trailing arms, springs, adjustable sway etc.

So maxed out there. Cool

What's a good road race tire?

I ran a Yokohama A032R back in the day for awhile. Hooked real good on the street until it got cold out. I don't know what's comparable to them now. I didn't have the near the power then but I could drop the clutch at 4K on the street and hook. It was fun. Surprised the heck out of people street racing.

Car sounds great man. That is a strange dyno pull. He probably just wanted to hit it a couple times lol

No this is now a road track car. Now thinking I'll need to move to an 11" rear wheel so I can jump to a 315. On a road course with some heat in the tires I'll be able to roll into the throttle a little more on corner exit. I just see there is no way a 285 is going to make it. Also need to gear down. 4:10s were fun on the old motor but this one is way too much for needing that kind of gear.
F body guys run 315's on 10" wheels.

Haven't settled on a tire yet. If I stick with 285s, which I might for awhile since I've already got the wheels, I'll run Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Pretty good tire. Good manners. Good wear.

Yeah it could go but I think I'll experience too much side wall flex/roll. Will heat the tire excessively and make things squirmy.
