Not necessarily his "heartbreak" since that cam is being tested by the engine builder presumably FOR the engine builder's curiosity.

I think it's the engine builder who would feel the brunt of the "heartbreak".

That's my point

If he "thinks", it will work, then he may not be "the guy"

Good luck

Yep and I think his cam will get destroyed after 4500rpm by all of the others but no data yet so I'm game for a comparison.

F***! Mast calls today to tell me they want another $200+ dollars for different valves. Seems they F'D up and now another week delay to order right length valves
for the springs.

I hope this $4k is worth it.

Yeah.....if they made an error in the original 'quote', they should eat that cost.

Just crossed Mast off my list of vendors........

Wow, I'm really surprise how they would put the wrong the size valves. When I ordered mine, the options for valves were all there for the customer to choose, which weren't many, maybe two or three? I can't recall. I told them the valve springs that I wanted, and installed the height desired. Everything went smooth when I ordered mine, but sorry to hear your frustration. Hopefully it'll turn out for the better.

The original quote was $3836 The new one is about $4036+, plus another week minimum so he could order the valves. When I told him I thought that was a bad deal, he said well I could go hydraulic roller. What kind of stupid comment was that? I was given a quote for a solid roller setup, they messed up, charged me $200+ more.

I have to be honest, I think their heads are probably really good, but I would not buy from them again. If I had to do it again, I would go straight to Frankenstein, who answered the phone immediately, responded here several times, and was straight forward. Frankenstein wanted $4600 for the same head setup.

Ha, I should have listened when you said go to Speed Inc. Do you know the valve length you used? My orginal quote was 5.45". I still think these heads should be performers, LOL, not a real patient guy. Got the need for speed!

I recall asking for 2.165"/5.450" hollow stainless intake valves and 1.600"/5.450" solid stainless for the exhaust valves. PAC 1209X valve springs w/TI retainers and locks installed at a desired height for the custom LLSR from Kip.

Now isn't this interesting. They were able to use them on your heads, but not mine. I'm good to .800 lift..what was yours again?

I believe the PAC 1209X springs are good to .750". Lifts on my cam are pretty much about that, .748"/.739" around there.

He still has at least .050" from coil bind with that much lift, then factor in lash as well. He has more than .060" from bind which is perfect.

I can't believe the issues Mast is giving you man... That sucks.

When I got my small bore LS3's I had Kip do it all and they showed up in like a week. VERY surprising to say the least, and his customer service was flat outstanding.

Sorry about all the grief you're getting.

I really never was a fan of calling and talking to them directly. Their sales staff had trouble answering several of my questions and said "we'll have to check with the guys in the back" and in my mind I'm sitting here thinking, "Well damn, just let ME talk to them then!"
