Default Do i need a longer pushrod? Info inside!

So I tested on 3 rocker arms on various cylinders multiple times. Each rocker i torqued down should have been riding the base circle of the cam. I had to turn rocker bolt / tourqe wrench appox 290-320 degrees to reach 22 ft/lbs. Based on my vid and this info should i go to a longer pushrod? What length do you think would get me into the right ballpark? Given my mods below, is this unusual that i'd need a slightly longer pushrod?

Veh Info:
stock ls2 / heads
7.40 pushrods
stock rocker arms
stock rocker bolts
tick performance SNS stg 1 (cam sheet below) I'm not sure if there cam has a stock base circle or not!

If you have Ticks stage 1 cam, the stock 7.4 pushrod should be fine. I forget how much 1 turn is on the rocker bolt. You know the right way is to get a push rod checker to get the correct measurement. I'm guessing that the 300 degrees is probably around .045 to .050 which should be fine.

Hmm yeah that's what they told me today as well. I was always under the impression that 1.25 1.75 turns was the sweet spot. The valvetrain noise is a bit much imo. I did purchase a adjustable pushrod tester though. I'll try the sharpie trick with it. I also verified their cam has the same base circle as stock too.

if it's noisey try a set of 7.425" and sell the ones you don't use on here...some people find the ls7 lifters do get quieter with some more preload

I'll give it a shot. I'm going to test with an adjustable pushrod and sharpee just to be sure they will fit right before ordering. But the consensus is a longer pushrod or a little more preload would quiet things down? Just want to understand the correlation of preload numbers with valvetrain noise...

If I recall correctly spec for preload is around .045"-.055" but many users here report running closer to .080" preload because it makes things quieter.

I honestly didn't even check mine the last time. I seem to remember being less than a full turn to 22 ft/lbs and it was still quiet on a 230/238 Cam Motion cam.

On the previous set up I was using an old set of Vortec 350 SBC lifters I had on hand and an EPS cam and preload came out to be around .110" (I think the older lifters had more plunger travel than ls7s do).

Just curious - what kind of lift did the cam have? Im also running the btr 660 lift platinum springs in conjuction with longtubes which im sure doesn't help the noise either.

EPS was ~.605/.612", EPS intake lobe and LXL exhaust lobe (or is it LSL?)

Cam Motion is .620/.602"
