I guess I won't contact you about those LS7 heads I saw 2 days ago. Funny how things criss cross eventually LOL.

Hey, just having good fun with those who want to pound chests on the internet.

Anyways we all should not take this thread off track. It's not fair to the OP.

Looks like they are all about the same price. coSpeed has them for $159. Same as Straub, Smallwood, and apparently Summit.

I kind of like the way coSpeed packages them. They just need to wrap a small amount of packing foam around each assembly before sticking them in the bag.

Be careful with that LS7 install - see my post about how we found them to have a trunnion bore that was .0008" to .001" smaller than the LS1/LS2 rockers and it seized up the trunnion when we test fit one - we had to hone all the rocker bodies to allow for proper press and oil clearance.

Moron.
You probably need to read this post. It sounds like they never got boxes to begin with.

good to get this feedback from the straub group..

"I am working on supplying all volume customers with the boxes. The response to this product has been overwhelming. We sold in 4 weeks what we projected to sell in the first Quarter of this year. Frankly I was unprepared for the response and I take full responsibility. Large volume customers will be getting the sets packed in boxes in the next 3 to 4 weeks. We will also offer a bolt upgrade with the kit as an option.

Engine builders that have retro fitted the rockers to projects are getting some interesting results. I hope to be able to release some test data on the rockers as they are being used Corvettes that see 1000 miles a week under driving school conditions."

Yeah - it could be a serious problem for people trying to install these kits on their own in the case of the LS7 - no issues with fitment for any of the LS1/LS2/LQ9 rocker arms I've done. But for the LS7 you'd need to check size and hone the body if necessary like we did.

I was wondering if I was going to have to send off my rocker arms to get honed on my ls3. From what I see I don't have to, I'll just double check during install and hopefully everything goes smooth. Or would you recommend getting them honed regardless?

You could go ahead and install one set of bushings and the trunnion and make sure it spins freely if you don't have an accurate way to measure bushing press fit and trunnion clearance - if they're notchy or stuck you'll need to have the bodies honed.

Soooooooo........why are you quoting me, here?

I don't care who you buy them from or why.....and I certainly haven't endorsed a vendor.

I was merely stating that there are several vendors to buy from.

I thought Colorado Speed was selling at a lower price because of buying in bulk, but they are not.

They seem to have this going on in many of there posts, not just in this thread. I use the vendor I use because I have never seen such behavior from them.

no install instructions, but it's pretty straight forward.
chamfered side goes to the inside, flat side to the
outside.. press on, install snap ring, and done.

I purchased the kit from Chris Straub directly (cannot praise him enough for fielding my call and answering all my questions). Pics of my comp kit after roughly 5,000 miles of service:

Straub has said the bushings were designed for a nominal rocker bore size of 0.8125" and a press fit of 0.001" to 0.0015". My ls7 rockers measured 0.8120". After measuring the rockers and the bushings, it was determined the press fit would have been close to the 0.0015" spec. So, the rockers were being honed to take off roughly 0.0002", which got me to the specified 0.001" to 0.0015" press fit. Really, the only thing the hone did was square the bore of the rockers--which seems important to me with a bushing setup.

I got the rockers with the Straub kit installed a couple of days ago. The only news to report so far is the valve-train is much quieter than it ever was with the comp kit. I'll pull a couple of rockers off at the next oil change and look for anything abnormal.
