One of many reasons this forum is so cool to read. Good LS engine education plus a shitload of giggles on occasion.

Yeah, I'll bust on him... he's made a whole lot of progress and has taken pics, but he's "too lazy" to update the thread. He has the driveline in, trans is set, he fought the trans dipstick (pics and a solution should follow), radiator, Purge solenoid, fuel lines, it's all pretty unique since it's all custom. He should update, but he's probably too busy celebrating the Falcons sucking just a little less than 30 other teams lol...

Ouch! Brutal... Well, Loren's right - I've been lazy. He also forgot to mention that for the last few weeks this site would not come up on my work computer. Today is the first day it popped back up. ...and now the website that I have my pictures linked to is now banned at work!
At home I've had a lot of "honey-dos" to take care of at home so I could keep working on the car!

I know, I know - these are all excuses.... I'll have the update posted by the end of the weekend!

Metal, or tears of joy for the Patriots? LOL

But really it's a shame, lots of good progress. Hopefully I'll be able to help this weekend, maybe I can convince the wife to let me get over to powder coat.

Ouch, did you have to get it drilled? Anyone who has had their eyeball drilled will know what I'm talking about!

Dual 340s are needed for a 416 or are you planning on spraying the house down?

Not giving you ****, just curious since Ive got a very similar build going.

Edit, he just came over and told me he does have dual 340s. Wonder what he did with the 255 I sold him...

Dual 340s aren't required. The "requirement" of dual 340s would likely be due to a feed line restriction, which he and i dont have... we have 8an feed from the back of the car. Like throwing a hotdog down a hallway. He just has it because he got a deal on it. Wonder if they'll operate since he hasn't run them in the couple years he's had them...

His second pump will be on a switch, manually actuated. His first pump should be sufficient for a 416 na motor, but it's nice to have a backup plan...

Didn't have it drilled, this time. I have had that done in the past. It sucks!

Default 15FEB17 Update

Well, to quiet Loren up (and despite my eye still burning like heck) I guess it's time for an update.

Once we got the motor in, I started focusing on buttoning up everything under the hood as far as I could go. I finished up all of the wiring under the hood, got the radiator and fans installed, tied in the last of the fuel lines, installed the intake, relocated the purge solenoid and plumbed and wired it up, ran the Saikou Michi dual catch can, and several other things we'll go over as we go through the pics.

First, here is part of the wiring, the wire tuck mod that Loren took care of for me while I was working on other things. You'll notice that I came back and also tucked the power cable for my amp.

By using the rubber coated clamps, it tucked in nicely underneath the inner fender liners - and I don't have to worry about it bouncing around.

Next is the massive cables for the big 3 wiring upgrade. Yes, I still need to loom a little bit of the power cable...

In the second picture you can also see that I finished running my power steering cooler.

Here you can see the intake has been installed and all the accompanying plumbing/wiring is finished:

No, I am not using that nasty old K&N filter. I have the new AEM dry filter they recently came out with to go in it.

Here you can see that the catch can is complete and so is the Lokar throttle cable. Yes, that is a home-fabricated bracket (powder-coated of course, lol!).

Speaking of the Lokar throttle cable. Is there a piece to properly attach it to our F body pedal? I definitely didn't see one in the package for my super-freaking expensive fancy-dancy cable! I was told to "just zip-tie it, it'll be fine". Nope. Not going to happen, so:

Zip tie... does the dude even know me?!

Moving on, I also finally got the car ready to handle an automatic shifter for the first time. I didn't want to just bend a sheet of metal and try and fab up brackets to hopefully hold it in place, so:

I went to the junk yard and cut out an automatic transmission tunnel:
Here is what I used after cutting it down to size:

I test fit it and then bolted in the shifter before I tacked it into place, ensuring it fits like factory in the auto center console plate I picked up.

I'm not posting a picture of the fully welded part! Let's just say that it is not going any where. If I haven't said it before (I'm sure I have) I weld like I'm having an epileptic attack! After saying that, interestingly enough I tried TIG welding for the first time this weekend and did better my first time than I ever have MIG welding.

I also pulled off the transmission pan and went ahead and powder-coated it. Should have wiped off the fingerprints...
