I just bought a 2006 CTS-V ls2 with 140k miles and was only going to install long tube headers but when I went to install the headers I found broken exhaust manifold bolts broke off in the head so now the heads need to come off. I figure might as well do a head/cam swap. What heads /cam package would You buy for this Car?

I don't like what I've read out of the tsp stuff, seems like they are down on power compared to all the others. That mast setup would be badass but is a bit out of my price range. I like 500hp that drives like a caddy haha

As I said for the money. Money is the only limit there is to making power. Mast, MMS, TFS, AFR and all the porters that have their own version of these heads are all pricey for what little extra power you get for the money. I'm almost positive ported 243's were the first heads to crack 500whp on a ls1 but thats hand ported and costly to. For most of here budget is the major factor and its hard to beat the tsp setup.
If it matters my current heads are TFS245's so I'm not just nut swinging here.

Im about to run a prc225 head and custom cam from tsp. Can't talk about performance and numbers yet, but customer service has been nothing but amazing. They got me a discounted package deal, responded quickly, amd answered all my stupid questions...
Customer service was top notch, and they have my business forever

Those look like a good head for the Money!I've thought about sending My heads off to AI or Tea for their cnc porting and cam package But I like the idea of new castings and being able to sell My 243's to recoup some of the Money. My budget is $3k. All said in Done with Me doing all the work/tuning. I already have the headers and k&n intake and few other lil mods. Just trying to maximize power on this budget.

If you are looking to purchase new castings, but don't want to get too crazy on spending look at the PRC As-Cast 225s or the TFS As-Cast 220s both are great choices and will yield nice results. As for what camshaft you go with there are many options available, and it will come down to what you plan to use the car for the most.

Honestly I would go for a custom grind by Pat G or Brian Tooley

With all the available cams out there for the LS motors, with their various lobes, specs, etc...a custom grind really isn't needed IMO. I mean it certainly won't hurt, but it probably would end up being something very similar to one of the off the shelf grinds anyways lol
