You honestly don't have to go far out to have a fast car. Weight kinda makes you have to have a Darn good combo and know a guy...LOL!!!

Speaking of 408's Gotta love the little LQ block. Oldie but Damn Goodie.

Blk00ss yeah 7's are possible and 4's

I trapped 106/136.4

1/8 mph can vary a lot depending how efficiently you use it.

And to be fair the track was shut down that day due to very poor asphalt and had to be resurfaced. So I don’t think your car entirely got a fair shake.

And before someone starts calling “excuses!†Remember that guys have talked DA as reasons for worse than expected performance and I’d bet the surface affected it far worse than DA. Like trying to launch on grease.

So if he'd switch to Ls3 heads what would it be like +.150 or so. Just a reference. A little can do a lot. Same as ER 376 Ls3 with his own ported Ls3 heads and a shot. Mid to lower 5's but 5's for sure. Just a reference. 6's are good for a N/a small block. Buddy of mine in Vegas has a 6.0 from the junkyard with a cam and 3500 lbs car doing 7.1's. If you know a combination you can use it as a reference point. Some combinations are proven....you don't have to use the same heads and be in the same place. HP or ET

Oh I don't know. There may be some people that moved up from a LS3 to a LS7 head.

I agree, 6's are good for an N/A small block.

I know that Tim ran 9's N/a with factory Ls3 heads but $5k for the Mast Ls7 swap killed the deal. Later sold the engine and last time I spoke with him doing Factory stock Coyote 5.0 with another older style Stang. It's all general for a given combination. You just + or - a bit for different heads. If nothing else's changes .2 or so in a worst case scenario. Because of a better head. That's not bad for the common guy. You know with both being ported or Vs a aftermarket head.

Well yeah, but that's because the LS3 heads will be too busy slamming valves into the deck of a 3.78 bore block.
