Default Lifter recommendations

As the title suggests I'm looking for an affordable, quiet..ish, and dependable set of lifters for a .634/.634 248/252 cam under prc double .660 springs. Short travel is a plus, for long term safety since this is a street car.

Engine is a fully built LS3 427.

Thanks in advance

When you say affordable how much is affordable? If all else fails just call Johnson lifters or get with Mr Straub with Morel lifters. Both guys will have a lifter in your budget and teach you a few things. I should know as I've dealt with both. Even had a idea in which is now a sold product for the masses by Johnson.

In my 429ci LS3, I use these lifters --->> https://www.texas-speed.com/p-600-co...sbc-gm-ls.aspx

That having been said.....you can ALWAYS cheap out on your new and expensive, high-performance stroker........but I didn't.

There's nothing wrong with the Comp Cams lifters KW but my thing is service or feed back from a salesman who's just a phone technical guy. The owner is preferred for feed back. If you know what I mean. Talk to the boss/owner or to a technician . They both have lifters ranging from 400 to 1k+. If theirs a problem the owner would be the best person to get with.

By affordable I meant something good without a name brand markup. I might have made that mistake with the rockers. I went with jesel when comp or others would of worked fine. I'm not looking to sacrifice dependability. I like the price of the tsp ones, actually. Cheaper than others I've looked at. Seems like everyone wants to sell you extra expensive "performance" stuff when you search for stuff like this.

I'm just trying to get some peace of mind and know I got something good and didn't overpay this time. Then again the jesels are 1.75 ratio, which is very tough to find. So that part I'm happy about. The $1400+ part, not so much.

I will look at the other suggestions too. I have some time.

I'll have to get back to you on that one. With the 1.75 ratio rockers I would have to measure it, obviously. I currently don't have tool for this, but I have just about everything else. I don't recall what the spring pressure was when I installed them. They're PRC (tsp) .660 double springs, with titanium retainers.

The valves are Ferrea, standard size, hollow stem undercuts (both). The weight for the exhaust says it is .218, but gives no unit on that. I'm trying to find more on it. I can't seem to find anything on the intake. Maybe I'll give them a call later and get it from them. Pat G said they are a bit heavier than stock ones, which is actually surprising.

Morel 5294 here... I have never understood people's ***** out motor combos and throwing in "LS7's" because they're fine.

Good for you for doing it correctly!
