If you go up to the 4.125+ bore and have the hod clearance for good intakes I’d look at ls7 heads

600 RWTQ is going to take cubic inches for sure. The 454 would be easier to achieve it, but don't expect a high RPM combo either.

To feed an engine that size, plan on spending some $,$$$ on cylinder heads and a properly matched intake for it.

Your goal is possible, but I wouldn't expect it to have the best drivability manners. It's all about the combo. I wouldn't get hung up on chasing a dyno number either. If it's fast enough for you, then who cares what it makes. Time slips don't lie.

Here's what I would build if I didn't have a budget:

LSX 9.720" Tall Deck Block - part number - 19260100
Callies Magnum Crank - 4.500" stroke - part number - APQ-31T-MG
Callies Ultra XD I-Beam Rods - 6.125" - part number - U18170
Custom JE Pistons - 4.185" bore
Frankenstein All-Pro LS7 12-4 Heads - part number - FED ALL-PRO LS7 12-4
All-Pro Cast Intake ported to match - part number - custom
Jesel Shaft Mount Rockers - part number - unknown
Jesel .903" Lifters (link-bar or keyway) - part number - unknown

The above listed items are EASILY over $25K without any machine work or valvetrain. Not cheap, but it'll get you where you want to be.

I was lazy. I spec'd it out for my 2005 GTO and just "assumed" I'd keep the stock pan.

Awhile back I designed a billet LS Dry Sump Pan that was produced by a top name company and was run on Daytona Prototype cars. I guess that would work.

I was actually being a little(??) facetious since it basically requires the oil pickup to suck from the back wall of the pan, but you make a very good point! Have a great evening, man!

I like ls3 stuff for versatility. So many options and intake options. Ls7 will
Make a few more HP in the end but aftermarket ls3’s are darn good heads IMO. Fast is shitting the bed by not offering shorter runners for the ls7

An ls3 headed motor with a high ram is ***** of **** if you have the clearance for it
