Its going to be custom, probably need a cam with a reduced base circle.

4.5" with the stock cam location is going to need something custom. Like KCS said, a small base circle cam is a must.

On the Tall Deck LSX or Dart blocks, the cam location is raised .300" or so to move it out of the way of the longer throw cranks. And even they need smaller base circle cams.

The guys are right. When the engine was designed, the Carrillo rod shoulders and the cam lobes had to be designed in conjunction with each other because it's not a raised cam. I used to have the base circle information, but I don't any longer. Erik Koenig at Horsepower Research has a lot of experience with the 4.500 stroke cranks, cams, and rods and would be a good resource for purchasing them as a system.

They won't know the base circle spec or rod shoulder profile info though. Eric can provide the customer with Rods and a suitable Cam Motion cam.

Get with Horsepower reaseach in McKinney TX. call up there and ask for ERIC or Anthony and tell him Nash sent you! They are the ones who have built the biggest displacement LS 527Ci! I have seen it with my own eyes. 60mm cam over a inch of lift. Has a 1200lb open spring it’s insane. Here’s a picture of it when i was up there before PRI

yes sir. 1200lbs open spring pressure. don’t worry i said the same thing when they told me that i was like wow! but it has like 1.180 lift. If you look at the head gasket it’s also a spacer due to piston sticking out of the whole so much positive deck
