I would never doubt the engineers at Dart, but even the best high flowing dry-sump pumps with trick pulley setups don’t flow anywhere near 18 gallons per minute. Your typical run-of-the milll OEM GM LS oil pump will push about 6 gallons per minute. My HV HP 10296 Melling pump pushes about 8 gallons per minute.

Forgive me if this has been talked about. Has anybody used the newer Comp CM cartridge roller lifter?

I replaced the lifters with some Johnson 2110R's. That was about a month ago.
Surprisingly, the cam was fine. I was expecting some damage but nothing. Also, no damage that I could see on the lifter wheel either.
Only thing I can think of is the lifter was only making noise when under load and I caught it early.
With the Johnson's installed and everything back together, there is no squeaking noise anymore and car is running fine. Actually, I think that the engine is running better than before.

Any fresh data? It seems most the major trusted suppliers don't stock morel anymore. So cadi lifters that seem to get a hit or miss or the 800 johnsons. Lots of people say gatermen too, but I'm skeptical however 800$ for peace of mind is a lot !

@Sm0kie,
As @G Atsma stated we have the Morel 7717 drop-ins if that's what you're after. Those are part number SUM-HT217-16 or SUM-HTLSKIT3 if you wanted them with new trays.
We also have a variety of brands and options for the trunnion upgrade and a timing set. You can filter each by various options to narrow results to your particular application and taste.

Hello,
About 3000 miles and 9 months ago......
I put new Morels 7717 in my truck received from WS6 store [great service!]. Quietest lifters I have ever used.
Did not take them apart to clean, just oiled them up good and dropped them in. Did not have any first start up clanking noise. I stuck an exhaust valve in 50 miles which is another story I will add to an older post. Redid the valve job and started it up, the Morels, still quite as a mouse.
Running with Castrol Edge 10W-30 if you want to know.

Bortous is in Australia. Long story short, he built a max effort cathedral port engine that didn’t perform quite like he hoped. Then life happened and he sold the car and got out of it all. I heard maybe a year ago or so that he was interested in getting back into the LS game. We shall see how serious he is about it…
