Default LS3/L99 in C5Z power questions

Its been awhile since i have posted. Got a little bit of questions. I have a C5Z with an L99 Swap. I bought it like that. Had to rebuild it. Heres the run down of questions. Cam that was in it was similar to a Torquer V4. Put down 460hp with stock ported heads and e85. Changed out the cam to one similar to a TSP F35 and changed the MAF to an LS3 style instead of the C5Z stock MAF. Power only went up to 476hp. Same dyno conditions and weather. I believe it should be at least 500hp. Headers are TSP 1 3/4 and non catted x. Plugs were gapped to about .55 but regapped to around .35 now but did not re dyno with the new gap. Any suggestions on where i might be lacking or why its making low power? Thanks guys!

Can you please list camshaft specs for both cams before and after?
Thank you

Dumb question. Was it retuned after your changes?

You only picked up another 4 degrees of intake duration, though the exhaust went up 12 degrees, which should have freed it up higher in the rev range.
Lift pretty much the same both cams.
Do you think the LSA was any different between the two?

im looking into it now...but in general i just think its low on power any way before and after the cam swap. Heads are port and polished by TSP, ported LS3 intake and throttle body. We are just amzed its not making the power like other LS3 motors.

Camshaft one is not really ideal due to the narrow split and the EVO being way too early for that size engine. IVC is ok although it's better if it was 1 or 2 degrees later.
Second Camshaft I would assume may have been on a 113 LSA.
If it was on a lower LSA it would still work although but then you have a lot of overlap.
If you do not have enough compression this will lower your power and torque figures.
Around 15 degrees of overlap is around the point where you get maximum power gains before they become very small with driveability becoming way worse.
I recommend Brian Tooley's camshaft the 233/250 113 LSA +5 which will not contact your pistons if installed correctly and should make over 500rwhp.
For something less aggressive I would use the 229/244 113 LSA +3 from Brian Tooley.

Second camshaft should have worked better for and made more power.
Being on a 112LSA is ok but the other two camshafts from tooley are better suited as they will have better low end and still pull just as high if not higher.
As I said before 18 degrees of overlap for an LS3 is quite a bit. I would say too much.
I have a feeling you might be losing too much compression hence the lower power figures.
Is this vehicle a daily, weekender?

was it already dyno’d at 460 when you bought it and that’s what seller said? if so, what type of dyno? and what about after you recammed? same dyno or different?

obviously the numbers aren’t everything. i would see how it runs at track or even anywhere you race.. I’d rather brag on low #’s that outrun anyone with higher #’s then brag about 500 rw and get smoked by someone with less..

When it was making 452 on its first tune, i ran 11.3 with a 1.8 60ft and trapping 122....i dont know if that was good for the setup at the time

Am I the only one that thinks 475whp is on par for a ported heads and cammed LS3 with a good exhaust?

As mentioned, one of your issues is that you may not have enough compression. With that second cam, you should be at least at 11.5:1 CR.

Who's (which shop) doing your work.....you can PM me if you like....
