Default Any recent reviews on Ohio Crankshaft?

Anyone have any experience in the last couple years with Ohio crankshaft? Everything seems to be a little outdated.

max effort camshaft/intake and around 300hp of nitrous but 200ish will be more common

Looking into a 416 ls3 shortblock assembled by them but I just have a feeling the pricing is too good for great quality.

My gut is telling me to just let Mike Lough Racing Engines to do machining and assembly on a stock cube piston/rod combo but wanted some opinions.

Pick your parts have it assembled. Or buy short block or long block for a 300 shot. You've got more than a handful of decent prices rotating assemblies. You could Google Ohio Crankshaft to see whats the latest info listed. If open call and inquire.

Budget dictates route. I knew damn well I didn't have what I spent @ 1 time and I'm always upping the ante.
Spoiler!

I’ve called a few places so far. I’ll be having everything done including parts at the same place. I know most builders prefer it that way.

Assembly with Ohio crank was more of a concern of mine. 416 rotating assembly with their crank/rods, wisecos with upgraded pins, arp main studs, balancing, clearance the crank and assembly for about $3300. Just seems too good to be true.

Just a hair more to have Mike Lough do a stock crank, diamond pistons and callies rods and all prep and assembly. I know he builds some very serious engines.

Wow, $3500 for all that is a deal depending on the quality of the parts. Get more specific w/ the builders. What exactly are the parts you are getting? What about specific clearances on the rod/mains? Details count in an LS build. I did my own and was amazed and I have built a LOT of motors in past.

Main thing is having the correct tools and time 4 the job. Machine work and balancing the rotating assembly will run $1000+. then you go into details which add up..... labor to assembly is 500+ for the short block and roughly around the same for top end assembly. Add 500+ for Dyno time if wanted. With honest calibrations.

Yeah they’re really cheap, kind of scares me lol. They even have a dart shp 427 with je pistons assembled for $4950.

I’m definitely not confident enough in assembling one myself, I’ll save that for the experts.

I know, I am in the same boat. You have great inside info, I can understand wanting to be on the pinnacle of all of it, given your resources, I would too. Sadly, budget and time are my enemies and I have to work around both at some point. Good luck with your build!

One project @ a time....we got time.... reason I want to get past these Ls3 heads. Then just build heads accordingly.....same basic 408 different heads and cam packages. Of my own thoughts with help from the Super Friends. Ask me how I met them...pH call° and research.
