Default Trick flow 235 heads

So I bought a C5 and it came with trick flow 235 cnc Heads. Trying to figure out what motor might be in it. Question is. Will these heads work with a 4.030 bore. The only reason I ask is because I did notice that it’s a iron block in the car.

They are a great for a 400+ cid engine.
Is the engine stock displacement?

Yes, those heads will work with a 4.000" bore.

Wonder why they say they won’t work with anything under a 4.125 bore.

There are many varients of iron block LS motors. You need to find out what you got before you start buying parts.

Buying parts? Who said anything about that?
The Car already had the heads on it.
and I’m trying to figure out what could be the CI of the motor. If the heads won’t work with anything under a 4.125 then the possibility of the car being a 416 or bigger is possible right?

My guess is because maybe that's the minimum bore needed for them to work optimally.
I have seen dyno sheets with trickflow and afr 245 heads on engines with smaller bores and they kind of disappoint in the power department. On large bore sized engines they make crazy power.
However Trickflow did tell me the optimum bore size for their 245 head is a 4.155 bore or larger.
AFR say 4.125 but on their testing they used s 4.155 size bore also.

I see. I know the ls2 says 6.0 on the front of the block behind the water pump. Perhaps check there? I pulled this from trick which you have seen but for those who haven't.

These cylinder heads are not designed as a stock replacement, they can only be used on 6 bolt LSX-based engines with a minimum bore diameter of 4.125 in. Must be used with roller rocker arms.

Could be a 427 LSX

So I got a email back from trick flow and they said you can use these with a 4.030 bore but need to use a 4.125 head gasket. So it might just be a 370 iron block. I’ll try to find out more when I can get to finding the stamp or casting number. Thanks you guys for all the help. I’ll keep you updated.

The TFS 235 is a good choice period eithier on a 370 or a 40X cubic inch motor.

Plenty of TFS headed 40X going low 10s with a man pedal. All be low 10.5s

Just for some salt shaking I have seen ONE 40Xci AFR 230 headed go 10.6s with a 6 speed.
