Intake looks badass, I'm surprised that it didn't require more "clearancing" of the firewall.

This manifold almost touches the windshield in the fbodies lol.

We'd like a 136 to 140 mph + trap speed 👍

btw the S/R is still needed and wanted. Your engine told me that, in it's wants list. More lift if anything .700+

That line seems familiar....oh same thing said to Flyin.

Just for theories sake....what would happen if that TB was right off the plenum instead of a tube sticking off of it? Wouldn't you have more available displacement to fill immediately?

I've considered that a lot. On my car the tightest point to the hood is right at the TB. It would be easy to bolt an aluminum flange to the manifold and build from there. DBW is a slam dunk - a throttle cable gets wonky.

I'm not sure it is increasing plenum volume in an area that really matters very much. I've also seen the tests that Holdener has done and even with infinite plenum volume it makes near to no difference in power production.

That's a good one...also think of the sniper intake.
if possible place the TB over the plenum will net the best results..

No turns for the air, straight to the back of the valve to the piston... this isn't dependent on intake styles. Now the TB on front once moving would create a ram effect.

I would think The neck would speed the air up by bottle necking it... Na is pickie as we aren't forcing things it's all about the demand of and cylinder filling the demand of, more is better. Lift or air/fuel.

If u get nothing else from me. .think of a engine as it's you breathing and it will Always make sense..

your head is the TB
Your neck is the intake
The 🫁 (Lungs) are the heads...

All this is really true as we burn energy just like a engine.

I always hear how on these monster NA motors the TB ends up being a restriction....but what if it's the tube leading up to the plenum that's doing it? Sure the smallest area is the pinch point, but I'm not sure I buy air speed because any speed generated in the tube post TB is going to hit the plenum itself and lose all it's built up velocity from the "openness".

reason brother you skip that question and go straight to what we know is proper in the thought of Hp from the top with a carb or carb style TB. It covers more Area than besides coming from the top and being streamlined.

The latest intakes like the Fast Ram intake gives you a hint....latest computer and fluid dynamics used.

No neck needed but you didn't hear that from me. That one was a common sense call...

Pro stock intakes would be a great look also to see what's done or used..FED intakes also as there all using computers and airflow simulation to create the new stuff.

Mavn,
Did you get the heads directly from TSP? Which intake valves did you go with?

thanks,
Jim

Looks okay to me and who wouldn't want to make some more horsepower.
