CCW cranks won’t “jump rope” or flex in the center at high rpm (7500+) like a non-CCW will. Bearings will tell the tale. But…the OEM LS/LT blocks aren’t machined for the CCW cranks. There was a thread here once upon a time talking about CCW cranks in an OEM block. Unless there’s a heavy filet in the CCW counterweights to clear the center Oem webbing, the CCW crank won’t work.

I looked through the thread. So it’s fuzzy to me….did he grind or mill the crank? He mentioned grinding it, but then shows it in the block and doesn’t talk anymore about cutting it. Then another guy at the end of the thread says he could verify that it’s a drop in.
I’ve never seen Callie’s info on the fitment of the CCW cranks, but I’ve seen other manufactures of CCW cranks that specifically say they won’t fit an OEM block.

Spoiler!
What's Being Talked about from the Start and Grinding?

Context Clues?

Crank grinding was NEVER Spoken on by the One man Band.

From the way I read his post no clearancing is required. The center counterweights are tapered and miss the bulkhead by .060" - .065" so it is a drop-in affair.

*As noted previously my Dart crank required minimal clearancing but it has full profile center counterweights*....
Minimal Clearancing to the crank

Because

"The (blocks) that need clearancing can be done in about 30min on the mill. Not a big deal at all."

"I have done it on a 6.0L with a 4.00 Dart billet CCW crank."

Corona, I’m quoting myself here…which is laaaaame…but I wanted to re-visit this for the tech, in order to help others out there see just how big the filet in the center counterweight needs to be. Check out the pictures in post #1 of this thread…link below…and slide down to pic of crank in the block. Focus in on the center counterweight and check out the filet of the Callies crank. Looks like it’s been messaged a little bit also.

Confirmed that the Compstar CCW cranks will drop in an Oem block without clearancing.
