Took the car out to a meet on the weekend. Got to race 2 cars but I gave up the only advantage I had (weight) by taking passengers with me. Ended up losing to both cars. One was a built motor, upgraded turbo Audi TTRS and the other was a built motor 1100+whp GT500. Car ran great tho but the clutch was still slipping on the shifts. I believe I have pinpointed the issue to the dry break fitting that I installed in-line on the clutch system. I removed it and the pedal effort feels less firm. This should be the fix.
Even tho I had a passenger, the car was moving out. Even with the clutch slip and having to leave in 3rd gear, it ran a bottom 5. Very happy with that.
Need to get my hands on a 2.66 ratio trans and let it eat in 2nd gear.

New video posted on my IG
www.instagram.com/jayyyw
This was a friends (roughly) 900whp Grandsport. Built LS3 with a D1x procharger. He's gone 4.60 60-130 and 4.20 100-150 with no passenger, in some negative DA. So definitely not a slow car. I do believe he said he had to short shift it due to AFR. Either way, solid run.
Clutch issue is fixed. It was the 3an dry break I put in-line. Removed it for a male/male fitting and looks like it did the trick.
Picked up a stock TR6060 with Z06 ratios over the weekend. Installed it on Monday and finished it up on Tuesday with new fluids. Just need to swap tires back to the 325/50s and should be able to leave in 2nd gear now.
That run was a 4.7-4.8 60-130 and 4.58 100-150. She was moving out pretty good. Forgot to turn the meth on but kinda glad I didn't because I got to see that I had to add some fuel to the whole WOT section of the map VS what was done on the dyno. 8-10% pretty much everywhere. Shows its putting down some extra power on the street VS the dyno. Roughly around 790whp based on a rough calculation.

I love that video, the sound that car makes way up there at 8000+ is intoxicating.
What gear ratios were in the car during that run? I assumed you were already on C6Z ratios.

Looks like the cooling system is working now. Fixed a few leaks and added some block seal and water wetter to the system. Apparently sleeved blocks leaking coolant into the oil is "common". Its still losing a little water but the biggest leak was from the water pump seal.
I had an air deflector in front of the radiator and it worked okay but would get hot while cruising. I would have to coast to bring the temps back down. I moved the deflector to behind the radiator and temps are stable while cruising now. Hottest I saw was about 206 degrees.
Other than the transmission, I think the only other changes I want to do right now is to add a plenum spacer to the intake and try to take out, roughly, another 100lbs. I have a few ideas where most of that weight will come from. I don't want to cut the car up, though.

Z51/GS ratios. That was a 3rd gear leave.

I also never knew that the Z51 and GS gearing was different. I figured it was the same as the Z06 since base model C5s and F-body's shared the Z06 ratios. That car is gonna be insane with a second gear hit.

I actually never knew that about sleeved blocks, I saw on Facebook a few weeks ago that Gap God was having some problems with leaky sleeves too. I can't say I would be very excited about that.

Yeah the Z51/GS ratios are: 2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.00
Z06 is 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00
I changed to the Z51/GS for the last setup for a little more umph on the hit. It hooked in 2nd with that setup, but just barely. This new power won't hook at all without pulling a bunch of timing out. So going back to the OEM trans ratios should be the ticket.

Steve at RED recommends dropping two GM coolant sealant tablets in the radiator with his sleeved blocks. They all have the potential to leak, as the aluminum between the cylinders is paper thin literally. Fwiw GM drops a tablet in the bottom radiator hose of every GM vehicle built on the line.
