I do have a CHE kit currently in the rockers. Debating if I am going to put the BTR shaft kit back on the new motor.

Yes, that is the main reason. Also, the larger exhaust duration will let it keep putting power on higher in the rpms since I will be revving the car out to 8-8500

Yeah, I am excited. I feel the combination of parts of the entire car and attention to detail on some things will really make this shine. I won't be putting it on an engine dyno at the machine shop, but I would have to guess the thing would do 680+ at the crank easily.

Picked these up from TEA last night. Dropped back off to Paris to cc them and see how much needs milled off. Engine should be on a stand this week for assembly according to the machine shop, so we will get one head there when the time comes to check PTV.

Still waiting on the gears to get back from Liberty still. They quoted 2 months, so hoping they are sticking true to that, but we are roughly at the 2 month mark now. So hoping he calls me in the next week saying they're back.

They are the 220s I had on the original motor. We sent them to TEA and had them do a 245 valve job on them with turned down LS3 valves (2.1/1.6) with the 50deg nitrous job.

Was that just sending the gears? Or the entire trans? I know tr6060 is a bit more than the 56.

Another update, I decided to give the BTR shafts another go and ordered the revised shafts with the shim locater design and a new set of bearings. The rocker studs all fit great through them and don't have clearance issues like the first revision. Plus, with the motor being on the stand, it will be a lot easier to get pushrod measurements than leaned over in the engine bay of a corvette haha

Stopped by the machine shop today and snapped some pics.. We're now at the point that I'm holding them up as they need a head to check ptv. So plan is for Paris to open the chambers on the 220s, and mill them to get the chamber volume we need for the compression, then take one to the shop to fit up.

Paris has the heads on the flow bench and mocked up with the Hi Ram Base to get some layout done. Time to see what these can be stretched out to do!

Has the high-ram base been modified in any way? Just wondering if your leaving it as-cast…

It will be matched to the heads and smoothed up a bit. Not getting crazy with it.

Got some goodies in the mail yesterday. I had removed the EBCM and ABS pump from the car months ago, so I finally got around to ordering the abs delete kit from Finishing Lines. I could have simply flared the existing lines and such, but this is an extremely well put together kit with the prop valve and install is simple with it.

Ordered Tooleys new stock rocker replacements as well. Sold the original rockers with the CHE kit installed and PRW pedestals for 350 shipped yesterday. So that works haha

Couple updates. Paris finished the heads and manifold up. Got one head off to the machine shop so they can check PTV and finish up the bottom end. Chambers came in on the lower side of what we expected. Once opened up for the bore, he measured them at 62cc. We expected them to be around 69 or 70cc and then mill them down a bit to get 67 or so. He worked them a bit more and raised it up to around 64cc. So, with an LS9 gasket instead of an ls1 (051 gasket), should bring the static in around 14.2-14.3:1.

Still waiting on Liberty to get the gears back to us for the trans. Also found the spider gears in the diff cracked, so need to replace those. New Spintech muffler and turn down showed up though, so that is cool haha. Hoping I can get away with just one of these under the car, but I will have my friend set it up to add a second in the off chance one isn't enough.
