NA C5Z Build
Realistically, I think it will make at least 700 flywheel. No more than 740 flywheel though. So since Vettes usually lose about 13% it seems, that puts me anywhere from 600-650ish.
I have compared this motor to a number of other combos and it seems on par. Also comparing it to my desktop dyno numbers, which were pretty spot on for @jayyyw
Got the caps to cover the linkage protrusions in the air pan welded on so the thing is sealed up from the engine bay. Got the exhaust turn down cut at a 45 angle so more noise will go back towards the rear of the car compared to straight down. Got the catch can that @jayyyw made for me installed in the rear. Also bent the one AC line up a bit in the engine bay so it wasn't squeezed between the header primary and frame rail.

The list of things that need completed once I get the car home to make get it driving, and even started is a bit long.
- Need to finish up the holley install... Harness needs hooked to engine, routed where I want it in the engine bay, flex fuel/alternator harness into the power tap done, and then into the interior so I know where my mounting options for the terminator will be.
- Need to finish the fuel lines.
- Run the vacuum pump outlet hose to the catch can in the back.
- Need to replace the brake hose ends as a couple got smashed in the garage accident.
- Needs new rotors and pads all around due to the accident and damaged/missing parts.
- Need to heat wrap a few things here and there.
- Need to just generally remember where I left off with any wiring for the holley/factory pcm.
- Feel like I should pull the fuel pump assembly back out and replace the 450 in there with a new 450 or a 525/535 (not sure which is better) since the car has ran on E85 with that pump for the last 6 years, but it has also not been submerged for about 1.5 of those 6 years and I am not sure of the pumps health. Was fine when I put the car away back in October of 22, but not sure now.
- Need to really just go over every nut and bolt on the car and make sure they are all torqued.
- I will need to drain the oil in the motor, and reprime the oil system.
- Get a start up file in the computer.
- Fire the thing up and hope everything works well due to all the wiring changes.
With all that, I don't see the car being able to drive out of the garage and go a few times around the block until a decent bit into December and even then, I will be pretty busy with work/travel. So I am slowly coming to the realization that I should just wait till the nice weather comes back around in March to get it out. If I get lucky in January or February and we get a warm spell for a week or so, then I could try and squeeze something in. But I won't hold my breath.
I am nervous too about starting the thing up and not getting the rings seated in time/washing them out. I just don't want to rush anything and feel it is better to wait.
I am a believer in leaving a motor untouched during the winter while a lot of people like to start them up and warm them up. I leave mine alone all winter and just on the tender.
The motor was finalized in May of 2023 and it hasn't been started once. Not sure if there is anything I should even do with it till I start it besides reprime the oil system.
Also, I'm camp leave that engine alone all winter. A few months doesn't mean anything at this point
I have an 02 EBM C5 Z06 as well. Wanted one since I was a senior in high school since the C5Z06 came out the year I graduated. I bought it stock and did a few mods.
TSP Long Tubes, Borla Xpipe, Ti Exhaust Bypass, Skip Shift Delete, B&M Ripper Shifter, Venom Mod, Tick Speed Bleeder, TB Bypass, CF Power Duct, Airbox Mod, all Emissions stuff gone. I put a healthy tune on it.
Took it through Tail of the Dragon a few years ago a few times. Fun car.
