Default Canted valve heads

BTR just announced their new canted valve cathedral port heads. 360 cfm. Thoughts?

They should kick butt. They'll be more affordable than LS7 style heads and probably won't drop valves.

While obviously a big upgrade for 5.3’s I wonder how they will compare on bigger bores.

also will be watching these closely for valvetrain issues. Trick flow tried this years ago, and failed not once but twice.

If they get that figured out they could have a crazy big winner here. Junkyard 5.3’s that make big bore power?

I actually called them about 3-4 weeks ago and the douche on the phone would give me zero info on them. Mind you, basic questions, what port layout, when do you think they will come out, nothing crazy. Either way, no hate against Tooley himself, he puts out a good product.

Maybe the guy on the phone didn't know the date they would be released. Maybe even Tooley himself isn't positive on the release date yet. If you had a new product that wasn't ready for release, would you be ready to give those same details you were asking for over the phone?

I know where I work, we wouldn't be giving out details over the phone about a new product that is 6 months out from release.

I'm curious what they require for special parts compared to most online valve heads out now. Special shaft rockers etc.? Would love to test a set on my engine and see what it does compared to a very good head on there already.

That's all fine, but they already leaked it all over the net, so what is secret? That stuff drives me nuts, why leak stuff everywhere and then pretend it doesn't exist.

It will pick up on your motor absolutely. Bigger, canted valve is a win-win for your combo.

Companies "leak" things to build up interest and see how much interest there is. It doesn't mean they are ready to announce a release date or specifics of the design. Happens all the time.

I believe it is using LT valvetrain as they're canted on the factory head.

They use LT1 valves and from what I understand LS1 rockers. It looks like the rocker positions are changed.

Having an LS3 intake fit the heads is a game changer. Cheaper, better intake, larger TB opening, and awesome head flow. I'd guess 520 HP+ capability on an SBE 5.3, if not more.

Nothing yet, BTR keeps pushing the sale date back for whatever reason. If they do a rectangle port designed for small bores, I'm in. Last I heard from BTR, they were supposed to be shipping porter's castings at the end of last year, and as cast versions in the 1st quarter of this year.
