LS2 Manifold Interesting info
The LS2 intake manifold for the SSR is different than the Corvette / GTO.
SSR Manifold part # 89017588 and cost is $83.00 more. It appears to be based on the truck platform and looks like the stock 6.0 5.3 4.8 drive belt assembly will work.
I know it doesnt mean much to you Corvette & F body guys but its good news to us truckees!
FYI different part # on throttle body also #12572658 Cost is only 128.60 compared to the vette/goat $300.00 cost. Both are 90 mm but before you get your hopes up it is still fly by wire. Not sure why the huge price difference!
Another interesting note two different injector part #'s....
And one last bit of info...
As I understand it the HP and Torque specs are:
Vette/Goat 400 hp 400 tq
SSR 390 hp 405 tq

AWESOME! I've been looking into doing an LS2 intake swap! I'm guessing that the GEN III truck injectors/rails/etc will work? Is this intake taller like the GEN III truck intakes? Any pics?!?!

Sweet. I need more info. Whn will these parts be available? Is the SSR intake the same as the existing truck intake manifold? The price on the TB is great, thats for sure.
How many truck guys will end up posting in this thread?

I'm assuming that this manifold uses the same 4-bolt LS2 TB. Would it be better to get a FAST/TPiS TB, or use a stock LS2 TB and convert to DBW?
I'm pretty sure it would be quite complicated to convert a non-DBW truck to DBW. I know that some of the '02 SUV's had it, so maybe it could be just a little re-wiring and some computer tuning? Different accelerator pedal? A couple of sensors?

Scream, your best bet is the FAST 90mm. Cost of the FAST is a bit more, but by the time you buy the LS2 TB, and even attempt to convert to DBW, you'd easily double your costs (and quadruple your effort).

From what I've read, the LS2 manifold doesn't seem to make more power than the LS6 manifold, but I'm curious to see if there's a difference from GEN III truck manifolds to the LS2-style. Is there anyone that will flow-test them, or am I just going to have to buy one and dyno test it myself?

I doubt GM would make a 'better' flowing/performing intake for their trucks than for their beloved Corvette...Maybe a tad more torque because of the additional runner length, but not more power. I'm not just raggin on you truck guys, I'm one myself. I LOVE my 6.0 Caddy. It's just unlikely...

Flipper - are you 100% sure about these numbers: #12572658 & #89017588. I'm ready to place an order and attempt to modify my 03 DBW throttle body to the 90MM new version. I just dont want to order the wrong parts.
It looks like it would be an easy swap. I'm also going to try to keep my SS engine covers. These truck intakes aren't eye candy, thats for sure.

One other question - Looking at these pictures:
http://twinturbo.nostruck.com/ls2/SS...0-%20Front.jpg
http://twinturbo.nostruck.com/ls2/SS...-%20Inside.jpg
Does the 90mm front opening narrow down as it goes back?
It looks like its 90mm at the front, but squeezes down to 78mm (or something smaller than 90mm) a couple of inches inside the tube.
