500HP is enought for the car to go 200.
Gearing will be the tale of the tape. If the top end gearing isn't optimal for 200, it won't go 200. Its clearly states mid 190's on the track. Oh well...
But don't be suprised if you see one over 200.
As for the 6.4L stuff vs 7.0L stuff being race related.... WRONG, try again.

At any rate, the gearing will play a large role although both current trans ratio sets (Z-51 and non-Z51) have the potential to hit 200mph. The increase of Cd from .28 to .31 will not help, however. Some of the Cartest sims I've cranked out show a theoretical top speed of 200-201mph with the optimal gearing and a .29 Cd. With .31 it may fall a a few mph short, but it'll be so close that any given car on any given day could do it. Either way, the LS7 will be far from immune to mods, so adding another 20-30 hp will likely get you there anyway.

Everything I have is for sale!! I'd be happy with just the engine. I wonder how strong those rods will be. Should handle a 200 shot with ease, but can you imagine a 400 shot to that car!!

Put a cam and a set of headers in this thing and 200 mph in sixth gear will be no problem. With the kind of technology this car is comming with you would probably be at 700 hp with just those two things if the fuel and intake in front of the maf can support it.

I've gone on the first public day the last few years, and I find it to be more and more crowded each time. So, I am pushing it back a week this time around. Also, a little-known fact is that the first Saturday is "gang day"... obviously an unofficial designation, but manufacturers will have more cars locked, and remove things like shift ***** from cars so that the hoodlums don't.
But if you want to meet up for a brew or something while you're in town, I would be up for it. Also, let me know if you want some places to go/see...

im just wondering the strength of the chassis/frame going from steel to aluminum and then that balsa wood in the floor boards??? i was planning on buying a new C6 but i guess im waiting for the Z06 and i want this baby with a pair of turbos. would this new frame structure handle 1000lbs of tq? i dont want my expensive new Z twisting to s**t.

All C5's and C6's already have balsa floors. This one is superior to the floor in the C5 and C6 as it has a carbon composite, and will be even stronger.... So, no worry there. (Yes, the Z06 has a wood floor in it)

ok well that makes me happier to be spending all the $$$ im going to be with this new car. now another question, the LS7 is derived from the C5R engine, is the block better/stronger than the actual C5R race case or would i have to go with one of those in order to run high boost? from what i can remember the C5R is aluminum with other special features that allow it to be a very stout block and i dont want to have this voice in the back of my head saying the LS7 block is "weaker" than the C5R case. im just worried cause i dont want my future investment to crap out on me.

I wouldn't stay downtown if I were you... I think there are better locations with more fun stuff to do in the suburbs - namely Royal Oak or Birmingham.
Let's take this to PMs, and I'll hook you up with some fun stuff to do... especially if you can hook me up with a few hotties to do...
