Don't get me wrong, I love the LSX series engines. I like fast "street cars" and the LSX is great, but BBC's can make crazy power. Put one in a Nova/Camaro, put a cam, headers, and carb, and if you can get decent traction 10's are easy.

With stroker cranks, bigger bores and the option of longer rods, there have been "big inch" small blocks for years. I think the current big boy is around 455 c.i. by several engine machine shops.

I am about to chew my leg off! My wife said no to a LS7 Zo6, SOOO I have been trying to figure out what the cost would be to do an engine swap.
The price is in the 12K range. don't forget the Titanium rods and valvetrain goodies. I was also told that I could buy a set of rods for around $2,700 or a rotating assembly for around $5,000.
That is a lot of money when I can already get sideways in 3rd gear.

Kind of off topic. I'm new to this type of stuff. Can one buy an LS2 or LS7 and put in a 4th gen Camaro? What modifications and or parts needed to be changed? TB? Headers? Clutch? Rear?

Word out of the recent Z06 Vette Fest at the NCM, Dave Hill supposedly said that the crate motor will be around $15k. This was all over the z06vette.com forum recently.

So with all these strong parts is this gona be like the cobra engine where you have to want to break it to break it? If so a single pt-88 and furl system and you got a reliable 1k hp 8 days a week.....I hope gm is nice enough to make a 40k dollar Camaro that has this in is......keep dreamin

what is the big deal about this ls7. holden here in australia was 1 step away from making their 427ci 560hp monaro (same body as a gto) about 3 years ago and it came with an awsome 8 throttle body set up, 6 point roll cage, 6 spot callipers all round, carbon fibre pannels and a 6 speed sequential transmission and it didnt get close to as much publicity the corvette is they even got it to a point were they were taking deposits for the 50 cars they were going to make

Mass production vs. hand-built special run and price are the issues. That Monaro sounds extremely nice but any one or any company can take a production car and enhance it. Expen$ive to buy, tho.
