Default LS2 Combo

I feel like bench racing. How about this set up. LS2 motor with AFR heads MS3 cam and edelbrock stepped headers. 475rwhp possible?

Either AFR head (205 or 225) should be able to achieve that number easily. You'll just need a bit of compression to help out. In order to get the compression, you'll have to mill and run thinner gaskets, which will prolly give you P/V problems with that big of a cam.

I think you'll definitely need to replace the LS2 intake with a FAST to get there.

Yeah, I forgot about the FAST intake. The 90mm tb would help.

I figure 11.5 to 1 compression should be enough. Notched pistons should provide enough clearance.

I like the idea of running the 225 heads on a 4" bore. A 4" stroke would be nice but might not be worth the money.

With eagle cranks as affordable as they are, there isn't much reason not to stroke it. That is if the bottom end is being put together. If it is just a LS2 short block then you'll be looking at a good bit for assembally + the cost of the stroker kit. With SDPC selling the 402 short blocks for $3995, I'd go that route.

So, you think the 402 stroker will put down near 500 rwhp? What kind of cam do you think is best for this type of setup? I know, I know, loaded question but, I am considering this route so, I'm asking!!

I'm running a 244/244 .612/.612 112. Haven't been able to run a full dyno session. Had clutch issues with the slave leaking on the disk causing major slippage. The graph went to sh%# at around 403 rwhp, but we were just getting up into the powerband of the cam.

With the right cam Id expect a 402 to make 550rwhp. As far as Eagle cranks go theyre made in China so I would never buy them.

yes it is my DD. It idles fine at 900 rpm even with the ac on. It also drives fine in traffic. The only thing that scares me is the lift taking a toll on the valve springs.
