Is this true? Are the LS2 and LS7 flywheel the same thing?

I did a Fidanza Lightweight FW and the new LS7 Clutch. I think it great so far with 275 miles on it. Feels like stock and is 5000 times better than the Excedy single setup I had for daily driving.

What is the best combo of lighter flywheel and approx 11" after market clutch.

Have std LS6 at present. LS2 flywheel or this one best option - will all after market clutchs have the same attachement bolt / spacings?

I have been using the clutch now for about 1500 miles on it. My car is making 507rwhp on the motor and I have a NX 150 wet shot on top of that. So far no problems and the clutch feels just like stock.

Well, that's my understanding. My question is: are the GTO (LS2) and the vette flywheels the same part?
I read somewhere that an F-body getting an LS7 clutch would need a GTO flywheel. Will a Vette flywheel work too?

You may have to look back in this post but I thought it was the opposite that an fbody would need the LS2 Corvette flywheel and the GTO flywheel wouldn't work. Two different part numbers were listed too so no one was confused. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well, I was just looking through the Fidanza parts catalog and found that they have published the same part number for the '05 GTO and '05 vette. (both use LS2s). Obviously, the older LS1 GTOs wouldn't work.

I was just unsure whether all LS2s used the same flywheel or if the GTO and Vette might have used different ones. Looks like their the same.

Thanks.

I believe one of the first people to try out the ls7 clutch in an ls1 car originally tried the gto flywheel which didnt work, so when he noticed the c6 vette had a different part number he tried that which did indeed work.

kungfuteabag is correct. The GTO FW will NOT work in the F-Body.

Shall I assume you are talking about an '04 GTO that used the LS1?
Or are you confirming that the '05 with the LS2 is a different flywheel than the C6 vette?

I was told the GTO (ls1 or ls2) is different altogether.

Exactly! I was appalled. I ended up ordering from Fred Beans. Including shipping charges, their price was the best I found.
