Default LS2 Cam recommendation-Mild street car

looking for a cam for a street car. Want good drivability through Cats. Will be used with CNC heads and headers, but full aftermarket exhaust.

Though't I'd ask here before asking the vendors!

Comp Cams XE-R 224/228/114. Excellent street manors and broad power band.

Im happy with mine on the street so far, but if your really looking for drivability: go for a 224 cam : TR224, MTI C2, etc.

Actually i probably dont know what im talking about

I run a 230/236 +2 112 LSA comp XE-R cam in my M6 C5. It pulls everywhere, idles well with a nice lope and I can cruise at 1k in 6th gear. I drive around shifting at 1800 RPM when I want. It's all in the tune. ProStreet MotorSports speed density tuned my car when they did the H/C. Lot's of power everywhere and drives almost like stock.

I have a 234/240 598/608 114LSA in my 01 A4 Vette and it lopes at idle but is extremely streetable. Stock TC and tall 2.73:1 gears too.

Unbelieveable power from 3500rpm up but still lots of torque on the bottom end. Pulls like a freight train. I love it.

On the LS2 I'm building, I'm installing a Comp Cams 242/246 610/615 114LSA at 11.5:1 static CR.

As others have said - it is ALL in the tune.

Good luck on your choice

What's with all these baby cam recommendations? I guess those would work if he's using stock LS2 or even LQ9 heads. That engine can handle a much bigger cam with proper heads though. A 242/244 would be about the right area. Again, it's all in the heads and what/where they flow.
