their website doesn't really have any in-depth info on their shortblocks.

GTO guy just bought one and posted pictures, said it was only a 2 to 5 day turnaround while the others wanted that in weeks.

Cant go wrong, they've been doing this for over 25 years. Jeff myers is a great guy to talk/deal with. When I upgrade my motor, I will definately have them build it for me.

That's weird how the 403 is cheaper than their 383. Is that correct? If so, then why would anyone still buy the 383?

Kris Jones is the man. Talk to him at SDPC.

He's building a 427 Iron block for me now and you would be suprised how much it cost compared to that Lingenfelter block w/o a core charge.

Call and price and ask him what they do to prep and what bearings, crank, rods etc. He can do it all

Just my .02

I'm really disappointed in LPE. I left a voicemail, after several failed attempts to get Mr. Ed Potter on the phone, and never received a return call. Then I even emailed him a day or two later, LAST WEEK, and never got a reply or call then either. Some-what puts a bad taste in your mouth...

I'll be giving SDPC a call I reckon.

Don't give up...there is more than one person that works over there. As with many of the 'better' vendors, Ed is pretty busy. Try Jeff Myers, I've got a 403 in the works through Ed, but Jeff was able to answer some additional questions when Ed wasn't available.

i dont think i have ever had better service than from Ed potter at Lingenfelter, I ordered my 403 a week and a half ago and it arrived at the shops door 3 days after i placed the order. This guy goes out of his way to help me with what ever questions i have or the need to order more parts. I cant wait to put this thing in.

Caindo....if all else fails and Jeff or Ed aren't available...try Tim. He's the sales manager. Lots of options, I wouldn't just sit by the phone waiting for them to return your call....

Caindo,

I'm really sorry for the delay, we had several people on vacation last week for the holiday, which left me and Jeff pretty much buried in phone calls and emails. This week has been just as busy, but I am starting to get up.

It was good to talk to you today, and I have emailed you the information you requested. Sometimes, it is best to call back if you are in a time sensitive situation, because my phone rings literally from the time I get here in the morning, untill the time I leave at night, so it's not always possible to reach me on the first try. As others have posted, I will do whatever it takes to take care of you.

Thanks,
Ed
