LS7 PCM/Any running engines?
I have read a lot of threads and seen some pretty polished LS7s at SEMA. However I have not seen or talked to anyone with one running yet. Does anyone have any updates? I heard about someone "from a major manufacturer" had cracked the security for the factory PCM. Other than uncrating mine I have been letting it sit waiting for some developments. Oil and cooling are easy to solve compared to the PCM problem. If there are people working on the PCM and wiring can we get an update?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Due to the holidays and me closing on the new house, I've been pretty busy lately. Friday we'll have the 98 LS1 out of the car. Hell, I don't think it even has 40k on the clock, it's still a virgin. Haven't figured out what to do with it yet..
We pulled the rear last Sunday - I'm still waiting on DTE to deliver the new rear and shafts. The radiator just showed up last night with another handful of misc parts.
We're going to use the stock PCM to control the motor, at least for now. It's out of the car as well, and may be relocated to make room for the sump tank. The battery is heading to the back of the car..
On the LS7 PCM security, yes they've cracked it and they're now in having a look around. I think it'll be a good couple of months before we'll see a product hit the street as far as a reprogramming solution goes though IMO.
What is your motor going in Mark?

We are building a '66 Corvette roadster with an SRIII Motorsports chassis, LS7 and Viper T56. The PCM issues are really aggrivating. I am sure I can solve all the other issue with enough time and money but the PCM is killing me! I need it running by end of January to stay on my build schedule!

Contact Mark Sanderson at UMI racing. http://www.umiracing.com
He worked at Katech and dynoed a LS7 that used a MEFI IV controller. He is now at UMI selling the MEFI IV stuff.

The BS3 will be able to run the 58x wheel engines by the end of Jan. It will be a solution for those installing in early cars that want freestanding control of engine as well as trans if needed.

Yeah, what dinker said. I hear they got way over 600hp with a cam and headers. I guess the MEFI stuff is super easy to use as well. They also can integrate the controller with the Racepak dash to finish off the package.

Urschel in Arizona?
UMI performance in Scottsdale? Is that who you mean?
Is Urschel doing and selling LS2 and LS7 MEFI IV packages for stand alone applications?
That UMI?
