I know of three nice ones for ya.
1.) TSP "Texas Giant" 248/254, .629"/.622", 113 LSA
Click here for feedback and video clip of exhaust

2.) LS1 Speed-Comp Cams SS3 242/250 .611"/.619" 114+2 LSA
Click here for horsepower estimates from Jon @ Speed inc.

3.) Scoggin Dickey "Big Stick" 240/246 .600/.600 lift
A LITTLE info on it

Personally, I chose option 2 for my 402 buildup, but it's all en-route now so I don't have any idle or performance info yet...

the 246/250 110+4 .642 FMS cam I had in my 408 made great mid range torque and still made good peak power. stay with a 1 3/4 header if you want great mid range for a street car. I made 550rwhp and 535rwtq with that cam and 1 3/4 headers.

.642 lift? Running that hard, would you need .700" rated springs to run it? Seems aweful close to the edge for .650"ers

the .650 Manley springs I had worked fine. I would lessen it some though, maybe 620ish

Why so low a compression with a big overlap cam?

Nearly everyone on this forum with a correctly tuned engine is happy with their cam, no matter if its a 224/224 114/0 or a 254/260 108/+4. Unless you are competitively racing, you will probably be happy also.

It depends what you want to do. Drag racing at the track? Road racing track days? Tooling around the street and scaring pets and small children?

The small overlap..say 110 or less...will give you the idle...so much for the pets and small children.

The big cams...say 248/256 will make lots of power at the expense of a low end. A 248/256 106/+4 would be a fine circle track cam, broad torque from 4500-7500, however nothing below that. I imagine a drag cam could be even bigger.

For the street, a smaller cam, say 232/238 110/+4 should produce good power and lotsa torque all over the place. An idle to attract police though.

Lift will also increase flow and power without the penalty of a large cam. So you may want to investigate cams with LSK lobes for the intake or both intake and exhaust.
