Its funny that a) you posted this after running a 10.6x and b) you think the biggest cam in the catalog is the best for your combo. You probably would be in the 9's with a complete, thought-out combination of parts that complement each other. A guy from Michigan ran low 10's with a stock bottom end, off-the-shelf LPE/GMPP LS6 heads and an LPE cam (207/220 118.5 I think). Its the combo, not the "next big thing."

I agree 100%. 6 tenths is a ton to take off (especially in the low 10 second quarter range), and I don't think those little things are going to do it. I think a major revamp, new MATCHED heads/cam would probably get ya there.

first off, dont start talking **** when you dont even know me. I did not pick the biggest cam just to have the biggest cam. It happened to be the best cam for my combo, so you keep it shut unless you know my entire setup which you dont. I dont care what some dude from Michigan ran. Big freakin deal dude! A local guy here ran 11.1 on a stock motor...hes second behind magnus. Do I go a copy his setup? no!
my combo is the combo that TSP and myself chose to be the best for what my goals were. So if you dont have anything positive to say, you might as well put your foot in your mouth and sit back.

aight guys calm down... let me say this 476rwhp is plenty... 402 408 or 346 h/c with a 150 shot..dont matter how u get there.. 476 is plenty..
look at magnus and others who are cam only in the low low 10's around 400-420rwhp added afr's and are not making anymore power then josh is at 476 and there running 9's.. nothing is impossible with these cars... its not about being the fastest, but about running quicker each time outa nd meeting personal goals for josh.. where is the ls1tech i know and love? ya'll should be saying way to go and goodluck on his goal... i think he will make it, becuase if u knew him you would know how determined he is to get the results hes after and has been since day one...
ya'll are saying b/c he ran 10.6 or whatever its impossible.. i for one know there is a long road ahead of him, but at the same time for what was in that pass, it has a lot left in it.. a lot of weight to come off yet, and well basically guys this is a street car right now..... it is nothing in comparision to the trailored everywhere 2800lbs cam only cars...
anyways i wish josh the best of luck and wish you guys, all of you would kinda stop the bitching at eachother... that is not what this board is about..........

Calm down...no one is talking ****. I just thought what you said was funny, and frankly this whole post if funny. From a Beaufort, SC born and bred white-boy...good luck running 9's. I hope you do it. I really do. I was just saying that tweaking a combo in small pieces will get your more, and I gave an example. No offense. Trevor and the guys at TSP are good guys and know what they're doing. I knew Trevor when he lived here in Dallas. Went to Kennedale with him a few times.

I personally wish you luck on your goal, but I don't think it's going to be as easy as you claimed in your first post. There are plenty of people on this board in the mid 10's, and I don't see them making a post about how easily obtainable 9's are, months before they'll see 9's.
As I said before, a revamp of the setup, or maybe a good deal of weight reduction and you've got 9's easy. However, with everything as is, it's going to be hard to shave off those 6 tenths, and that trap is pretty low for 9's, as some others have mentioned.

Nothing you can do but go back out next weekend and try and shoot for a few tenths faster, so it sounds less far-fetched.. I think it could do it... just a matter of tinkering with weight reduction, bigger stall, etc.
Peace,
Josh

I think its funny you are saying how 'people' said its impossible for you to run 9's with your setup and your trying to call them out with a 10.6 pass then say that you need to lighten it and change stalls and maybe cam to get there I'd say they were right.

jugger had 445 wheel horsepower - 9.90's........ all about raceweight and 60' i think if you get that 60' down into 1.3 range, and had a clean run - you'd hit that 10.1-10.2 number you were talking about. then if you took out a couple hundred pounds i'd think you'd be really close if not hit the mark.

Hell, if you could get your car down to ~2000 lbs, you could probably do it with stock HP.
