Don`t let them get to you. Your already faster than most on this board. Just be patient and keep working at it. There are people running low 11`s cam only, they said it could never be done. Just have fun doing it!

It's funny on how you are out to set the world straight, and everyone is against you. If you read back you see what everyone is telling you is dead on! So suck it up and get over it. Everyone would like to see you hit 9's. Me included. But this is what is being said. Take it for what it is worth.
YOU WILL NOT HIT 9'S WITH 467 HP IN A STOCK WEIGHT CAR
YOU WILL PROBABLY RUN MID 10'S WITH THAT POWER IN A STOCK WEIGHT CAR.
IF YOU ADD A SHOT OF NITROUS YOU SHOULD HIT 9'S
IF YOU GET THE WEIGHT DOWN TO ABOUT 3,000-3,1000 YOU COULD HIT 9'S WITH A GOOD SETUP.
Nobody said your not competent enough to hit 9's, they said you can't get it with 467 hp and full weight. Which you won't. But if you loose weight or add more power you will get there. And if that is your goal then by all mean's do one or the other and acheive it.
Just don't think everyone is against you. People are being realistic to you. We all hope you do a little more to your car and hit 9's.

Thats cool, I am taking in everything you guys say, positive and negative. I really do appreciate the input, as long as its not said in a negative manner. There is no need to put somebody down in a bad way. I completely understand what Tagoe is saying and you are right. I just dont like people saying the I cant do something, bc I sure will do it!

Not to rain on your parade, but a 10.6 is a long way from a 9. So, when you get a 9, then make a post with the title of this thread.
The title of this post should be. For those who said 10.67 isn't obtainable.
Lets look at it objectively.
You cut a 1.490 which isn't bad. Now, lets say you get the suspension completely dialed in, I mean to the nth degree. You'll see, 1.28 or so.
So, 1.490-1.280= .021
.21 is probably worth close to .3 in the 1/4 overall if it really improves your overall pass.
So, facotring in what you've told us, that now makes your 10.61 @ 127 ~ a low 10.40 say as low as a 10.30 @ 128-129. Factor in a super stellar DA and I'd say mid 10.20's and maybe as high as 130-131.
I don't see a 9 at this point, but I wish you the best of luck in your quest for it.
You MPH is indicative of the power your car is making

BTW. Your not going to hit 9s with your current combo.

Guys...
It's physics and mathmatics....pure and simple.
No matter how much you improve your launch, a car that is capable of attaining 127 MPH trap speed would only be able to attain a best ET of 10.45 or so.....that is assuming the car has the perfect converter, rear gear, shifts at the optimal shift point, etc. The fact you are running 10.60's right now (VERY respectable #'s) confirms that you could whittle down your ET's a couple of tenths, but assuming the same DA and the same raceweight, the absolute quickest that car will run is 10.45 or so.
To reach 9's assuming you get that perfect combination dialed in you would need either 95 more horsepower (I figured for a 9.97 ET based on a current raceweight of 3500 lbs. which is pure specualtion on my part), OR you would need to lighten your car by 525 lbs.....better yet and more likely easier to attain would be a little of both. Keep in mind the figures I am quoting are based on the fact you have dialed in your car and actually have achieved a 10.45 timeslip with its current weight and power. The reality is that extracting 100% out of your current combination is difficult to do (and usually requires alot of time and money for different parts swapping etc.), so ultimately you will probably need a little more power and/or a little less weight to actually achieve a single digit timeslip.
Good luck getting there but try to be realistic about your goals....being constantly disappointed because you are trying to defy physics is certainly no fun. Sounds like what you have achieved already is something to be proud of anyway.
Tony M.
PS....If you go to the track on a really good day (air quality) you could obviously run stronger than you already have, but for the sake of discussing actual numbers, all of the figures mentioned above assume exactly the same Density altitude which plays a huge role in power production and ET slips.

Well said Tony, much better than mine....
I factored in a mph or so based on his claims of lifting after launch to straighten the car. I gave him a mph or so fudge factor. I do agree with your assesment.

Thanks for the info Tony! You always help me out man and I really appreciate it! A little update....I went back to the track and only adjusted tire pressure and shock settings.....60' still sucked but I managed solid 10.40s at 130mph!! Im telling you guys....I BELIEVE the car may have it in her! I just need some more track time and adjustments.....esp in the 60' range!!

Still, best possible now becomes 10.20's Few cars achieve ideal ET's with the power they actually have....it takes a lot or experimenting with parts, both chassis and driveline related. If you can crack the 133 MPH mark it shows you have the power to weight ratio to touch the elusive 9 second barrior, but once again, ONLY in a car that takes full advantage of that power to weight ratio.....most street/strip cars are two or so tenths away....stick cars even more (harder to launch, shift quickly, etc), almost double that figure.
My car ran 124 MPH with only 11.20's for ET....A car that can run 124 MPH that is completely optimized for the track has the power to go 10.70's Im confident less tire pressure and a more aggressive launch would have yielded 11.0's, and with phenominal air maybe a high 10.90 but with unlucky #7 in the picture, I never had the time to sort things out. Well see what the 383 Im dropping in right now can muster next month in Bakersfield....Im hoping for high tens with a low/mid ten second trap speed (128-130 ish).
