ok, now 418 pistons and h/c options...
Ok, now that its planned out almost all the way, pistons need to be custom made for the 418...katech? diamond? Im staying boost friendly, also i need input on the heads/cam... I was thinking def a custom comp grind once i decide the head situation. I am also doing alittle research on what turbo unit im gonna go wit... I was thinkin gt45-r, or a t6 flanged unit. Um, i wanna use cometic gaskets as well.. will they hold? Let me know what ya guys think.
Thanks again guys...

PM 1slow01Z71. He just got his 418 fired up today. He went through HELL with clearance problems because of the 4.100" stroke. He had to pull the new motor out two or three times to get machine work done. Be careful.

He helped me build my 418cid. and evry thing he said would happened ,happened . If your building it for a F-body you will need to clearance the front of the oil pan for the rod bolts and you will need to go with Diamond pistons because they make them for Seirl for the 418cid. to clearace the counter weight for the 4.100" crank and haft to shim the windage tray for the rod bolts and die grind or notch the block for the rods and i had to have the reluctor ring turn down .030" to clear the piston and had to have the crank senser machine down .030" to make up for the relutor ring .You will need to check and double check every thing and make shore you have at least .060" clearace on every thing you die grind . I think so my self. but i guess that others will disagree over the bore and strock combination , but i really dont care its my motor, and its already built ready togo in at any time .My all forged 348cid. is steal running strong with no problems ,it just has a lot of hard running on it in 2-1/2 years on n.o.s. and a lot of 7600rpms shifts. the 418 is a 6.86 liter and a lot cheaper to build than the 7.0 liter
