Their the same. A 224 563 is a 224 563, there can't be anything differant. Thunder use to get their 224 from comp, I think they are getting their cams ground somewhere else. Someone told me Cam Motion, you should really check them out usally they are much cheaper.

Comp's 224 XE lobe is a .568" lift, not .563". The TR lobe is a cammottion, so it'll be diffrent. The TR lobe should make better off idle power and a tad more under the curve due the more aggressive lobe profile.

I agree they're not the same. However, I don't think that is enough of a difference to notice.

From research I had done, I do believe that Cam Motion is not their cam grinder.

" TR uses its own proprietary lobe and FMS uses Cam Motion lobes" [JRP, Cam Guide]

I've driven on a few Thunder cams, The larger ones feel like dogs down low and like monsters up top. now the TR224 is one of those that are really nice down low, all the way till the TR230, seem to make power off the idle, but i haven't found any significane in their larger cams over the comp or cam motion profiles down low.

Cam Motion doesn't cut our cams. The TR224 Lobe isn't the same as a Comp XE lobe either. This lobe was probably the first of the 'fast ramp rate' cams to become popular in the LS1 engine. If anyone has any more questions let me know.
