)The rods depend on what you plan on using. If you're going iron block 408, you'll need 6.125 rods for a 4 inch stroke. Pistons would most likely have to be custom if you want to get the most out of the combo. You could use some off the shelf 4.030 bore ones, but they'd have to be flat tops or domes. Even then you might have problems with achieving the proper SCR you desire. Milling the heads is an option, but then you're reducing P2V clearance.
To put it in context this is going to cost a hell of a lot more than just putting a LS1 in your car like your original plan was.
Yea, I know this is going to be a heck of alot more. I'll probably just put in an LS1/T56 from a wrecked donor car and then build the L92 in the summer of '08. And even then, it will probably just be a stock one with a larger cam. They should have some pistons for the engine out by then. I wouldn't want to be loosing power due to lower compression. What rods would I need for a stock stroke?
Not to mention throttle body, fuel rails, and intake.
What length rod should I use to get a stock stroke (or just buy the stock GMs)? Could I use the 6.125 rods and run them in a stock block? Would the stock crank work with these rods? (sorry for all the questions, but my knowledge is pretty basic)
