There may be a smaller valve/bore head in the future.

I was referring to the LS7, not the L92.

I'll have to find pics of that. I mean, valve size and bowl size is just set. How can you adjust a head to fit a smaller bore? Is there a way to alter the seats so you can use a smaller valve?

ETP actually has a diffrent LS7 casting. thats why they can machine them to fit the smaller bore.

really though, it IS an alum head.. you could weld it up, heat-treat and machine it.. if you wanted.

Good point and good info. It just blows me away how the aftermarket is right there with production platforms now. The availability of CNC, cryo, and other tools these days is amazing. This stuff was for big race teams and engineering firms only just a decade ago.

Does anyone have the parts # on the complete Holden intake manifold with injectors and 90mm TB? Also, what rods/pistons are needed? I'm trying to get a parts list to see how much I'll need for a build. Thanks in advance.

Is the Holden intake you refer to the same as the L76?

I don't know. I'm wanting to find the one that is designed for cars. They are supposed to make more power at higher RPMs than the truck/SUV intakes.

Yeah, I saw your thread on that. Pretty crazy, but like you said at least you didn't get hit with the retainer.

The rods depend on what you plan on using. If you're going iron block 408, you'll need 6.125 rods for a 4 inch stroke. Pistons would most likely have to be custom if you want to get the most out of the combo. You could use some off the shelf 4.030 bore ones, but they'd have to be flat tops or domes. Even then you might have problems with achieving the proper SCR you desire. Milling the heads is an option, but then you're reducing P2V clearance.

To put it in context this is going to cost a hell of a lot more than just putting a LS1 in your car like your original plan was.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking they were less, but that is still a good deal. Any idea as to how to convert it to cable throttle?

Yea, I know this is going to be a heck of alot more. I'll probably just put in an LS1/T56 from a wrecked donor car and then build the L92 in the summer of '08. And even then, it will probably just be a stock one with a larger cam. They should have some pistons for the engine out by then. I wouldn't want to be loosing power due to lower compression. What rods would I need for a stock stroke?

My injectors alone cost more than $528.

Not to mention throttle body, fuel rails, and intake.

I wasn't complaining about the cost. Far from it. What kind of injectors cost over $528?

Oh. That's... a lot of flow. Those going on a F/I engine?
What length rod should I use to get a stock stroke (or just buy the stock GMs)? Could I use the 6.125 rods and run them in a stock block? Would the stock crank work with these rods? (sorry for all the questions, but my knowledge is pretty basic)
